Ash Wednesday | Holy Rosary Parish

“Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
Today, we begin our Lenten journey marked with ashes, a humble sign of repentance, renewal, and hope. May this sacred season lead us to sincere conversion of heart, deeper prayer, and a stronger love for God and one another.

As we receive the ashes, let us turn away from sin and open our hearts to the Gospel, walking together toward the joy of the Resurrection.

Repent and believe in the Gospel.

RAMADAN AND LENT BEGIN
ON THE SAME DAY

In 2026, Ramadan and Lent will begin on the same day, February 18, presenting a unique and meaningful coincidence that highlights the deep spiritual connections between Muslims and Christians. Today, we give thanks to God for a sacred milestone and a hopeful beginning. The ordination of Rev. Kelly James Suan Puyod reminds us that God continues to call, prepare, and raise up servants for His Church especially for the next generation.

This calling has been shaped quietly through faith, perseverance, prayer, and a deep love for God’s people. What we witness today is not just an ordination, but the affirmation of a journey already marked by service, humility, and obedience to God’s will.

As the Upcoming Youth Director of the Parish Youth Ministry, Rev. Kelly is entrusted with a sacred responsibility to shepherd young hearts, inspire faith, and walk alongside the youth as they discover their purpose in Christ. May his leadership be rooted in love, wisdom, patience, and courage, pointing the youth not to himself, but always to Christ.

| Let us come together as one family as we mark the beginning of the Season of Lent on Ash Wednesday, February 18. We shall follow our regular weekday schedule of Masses, with the morning Mass scheduled at 6AM and the afternoon Mass at 5PM.

The monthly meeting of the Parish Youth Ministry of Holy Rosary Parish, held on February 15, 2026, was a meaningful moment of reflection, fellowship, and renewed dedication among the youth. Gathered in faith, the members shared not only their time and ideas, but also their desire to grow closer to God and to one another. Through prayer, discussion, and collaboration, the meeting became a space where youthful energy met spiritual purpose. It reminded everyone present that the youth are not only the future of the Church, but active participants in its mission today. United by faith and guided by service, the Parish Youth Ministry continues its journey of growth, commitment, and love for the Church and the community it serves.

In a world that celebrates love with flowers, lights, and sweet moments, this place reminds us of a deeper truth: before we were loved by anyone else, we were first loved by God.
His love is not seasonal, not conditional, and never runs out. It is patient when we fail, faithful when we doubt, and constant even when our hearts grow tired.

Modern love may change with time and trends, but God’s love remains steady, anchoring our relationships, healing our brokenness, and teaching us how to love beyond feelings.
Here in His presence, we are reminded that real love is not just about romance, but about sacrifice, commitment, and grace.

This Hearts Day, may we celebrate not only the love we give and receive, but the divine love that holds us together.
Because when God is the center of our hearts, every kind of love becomes meaningful, lasting, and true.

| In line with the 𝟰𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗜𝗢𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗔𝗡 𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗚𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗢 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 in Zamboanga City, our 𝗘𝗨𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗖 𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗗 𝗢𝗡 𝗙𝗘𝗕𝗥𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝟭𝟬–𝟭𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, as our clergy in the Archdiocese of Ozamis is set to participate in the aforementioned event.

The regular schedule of Masses resumes on Friday, February 13.
