Columbian Squire Circle 1573 of St. HOW TO BECOME A SQUIRE?

Michael the Archangel Parish is sponsored by Knights of Columbus Circle 4091 (Chief Arellano Council). We are located at San Vicente, Orion, Bataan, Philippines. COLUMBIAN SQUIRES

Columbian Squires, founded in April 4, 1925 by Brother Barnabas McDonald, is an international fraternity of approximately 25,000 Catholic young men, ages 10 to 18 in over 1,00 circles worldwide. It is the official youth

organization of the Knights of Columbus. A Squires Circle is designed to be run by and for young men. Squires have fun, meet new friends, travel, play sports and socialize. Squires are involved in promoting vocations, marching in defense of unborn life, feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, supporting Special Olympics and promoting Catholic education, among countless other activities. Thus, the Squires Circle is an athletic team, a youth group, a social club, a cultural and civic improvement association, a management training course, a civil rights organization and a spiritual development program all rolled into one. The Columbian Squires program strives to provide "the spiritual, cultural, civic, social and physical improvement of its member and the development of their leadership qualities. Our stated mission is "to develop young men as leaders who understand their Catholic religion, who have a strong commitment to the Church and who are ready, willing and capable of patterning their lives after the Youth Christ." According to Brother Barnabas, โ€œThe supreme purpose of the Columbian Squires is character buildingโ€. The Squires involves your men in program Our programs to benefit the Church, the community, as well as recreational and social activities. The Squires program is designed to develop young men as leaders who understand their Catholic religion, who have a strong commitment to the Church and who are ready, willing and capable of patterning their lives after Christ. Squires are involved in programs that benefit the Church and community as well as in recreational and social activities sponsored by local Knights of Columbus parish Councils and Assemblies. Squires Circles are designed to be run by and for young men under the guidance of several Knights who serve as counselors. Squires are given the opportunity to take charge and lead by running their own meetings, empowering their own members, setting their Circlesโ€™ agenda and implementing their own program of activities. Known for his computer skills, deep faith, and the creation of a website documenting Eucharistic miracles, Acutis is considered the first saint of the millennial generation and is sometimes called the "patron saint of the internet".
