Theme: Mary, Consolation of the Afflicted: Peace for Victims of War and Hope for the Vulnerable

OPENING PRAYER
O God,
Father of mercies and God of all consolation,
you gave us Mary, the Mother of your Son,
as a sign of hope for your suffering people.
As we prepare to celebrate her
as Our Lady of Consolation,
look with compassion upon the victims of war,
the displaced, the poor, the abandoned,
and all whose dignity is wounded.
Make us instruments of your peace
and bearers of consolation to those who suffer.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Reading from Vatican II — Gaudium et Spes, 1

“The joys and the hopes, the griefs and the anxieties of the men of this age… are the joys and hopes, the griefs and anxieties of the followers of Christ.”

For peoples suffering because of war, violence and persecution: may God grant them peace, protection and the courage to hope. R/.

For refugees, migrants, children, the elderly, the poor and all who are vulnerable: may they encounter open hearts and helping hands. R/.

For those who mourn the death of loved ones and those carrying wounds of body or spirit: may Mary stand beside them as a Mother of Consolation. R/.

Mary, Mother of Consolation,

SERVING THE CHURCH THROUGH SERVICE

Today, August 31, 2026, some of the officers of the OAD Lay – Local Chapter of Saint Fulgentius of Ruspe – Bataan joined the Parish General Cleaning at the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Orani.

In the spirit of humility, fraternity, and service, our officers came together with other parish ministries and organizations to help prepare and maintain the church and its surrounding areas. This simple act of service reminds us that our vocation is not only expressed through prayer and devotion, but also through hands willing to serve and hearts ready to give.

May our humble work contribute to the beauty, cleanliness, and dignity of the House of God, and may it strengthen our communion with the parish community.

The OAD Lay – Local Chapter of Saint Fulgentius of Ruspe – Bataan joyfully extends our warmest birthday greetings to fray Io, Assistant Prior!

On this special day, we thank God for the gift of your life, your vocation, and your generous service to the Church and to the community of the Order of the Discalced Augustinians. May the Lord continue to bless you abundantly as you faithfully respond to His call and serve His people with humility, love, and dedication.

As Assistant Prior, may you always be strengthened by the grace of God and inspired by the example of our Holy Father Saint Augustine of Hippo, who reminds us that our hearts are restless until they rest in God. May your leadership and service become a source of encouragement, unity, and inspiration to your brothers and sisters.

May the Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Consolation and Cincture, accompany you always, and may our Augustinian saints and blessed intercede for you in your journey of faith and service.

On the joyous occasion of the Feast of our Holy Father, Saint Augustine of Hippo, the OAD Lay – Local Chapter of Saint Fulgentius of Ruspe – Bataan, through its Local Council and Members, extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who took part in this meaningful celebration.

From the Local Council, we sincerely thank the OAD Lay members of the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Saint Nicholas of Tolentine for their active participation, dedication, and service throughout the celebration.

We also express our deepest gratitude to the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Regin Tenorio, OFS, for generously giving our OAD Lay members the opportunity to lead the solemn procession honoring our Holy Father, Saint Augustine of Hippo, and our Holy Mother, Saint Monica. It is truly a blessing and privilege to serve the Church and witness to our Augustinian spirituality through humble service and devotion.

Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to all the OAD Lay members and aspirants who participated in our Online Solemn Vespers for the Feast of our Holy Father, Saint Augustine, held through Google Meet and headed by our Local Master of the Liturgy, Fray Christian Apostol.

Though gathered from different places, we were united in one faith, one prayer, and one Augustinian spirit as we offered the Solemn Vespers in honor of our Holy Father.

May the lives of Saint Augustine and Saint Monica continue to inspire us to seek God with restless hearts, persevere in prayer, and faithfully serve the Church and our community.

On the joyous occasion of the Feast of our Holy Father, Saint Augustine of Hippo, the OAD Lay – Local Chapter of Saint Fulgentius of Ruspe – Bataan, through its Local Council and Members, extends our heartfelt gratitude to the entire parish community of Saint Raymond Nonnatus Parish, Dinalupihan, Bataan.

In a special way, we sincerely thank the Parish Priest, Rev. Msgr. Hernando B. Guanzon, for his warm welcome, support, and devotion in making this celebration a meaningful and grace-filled occasion.

We also express our deepest appreciation to all the parishioners who generously gave their time and effort in accompanying and bringing the Holy Relics of our Holy Father, Saint Augustine of Hippo, and our Holy Mother, Saint Monica, to the Parish of Saint Raymond Nonnatus.

Through their generosity and service, the faithful were given the blessed opportunity to welcome and venerate these sacred relics, drawing inspiration from the lives of Saint Augustine and Saint Monica—mother and son, united by a profound love for God and a life of prayer, faith, and perseverance.

August 28 | Greetings

On this blessed occasion, the OAD Lay – Local Chapter of Saint Fulgentius of Ruspe – Bataan joyfully joins in celebrating the 18th Sacerdotal Anniversary of Rev. Fr. Dennis Duene Ruiz, OAD, Founder of the OAD Lay, and Rev. Fr. Renan William Ilustrisimo, OAD, Vicar General.

We give thanks to Almighty God for the gift of their priestly vocations and for the years of faithful service, sacrifice, and dedication they have offered to Christ, His Church, and the Order of Augustinian Discalced.

Eighteen years of priesthood is eighteen years of grace, service, and faithful “yes” to God. Through their ministry, they have become instruments of God’s mercy—celebrating the Holy Eucharist, administering the Sacraments, proclaiming the Gospel, accompanying the faithful, and inspiring countless souls to grow closer to Christ.

For the OAD Lay, this celebration holds a special meaning. We are especially grateful for the guidance, vision, and pastoral care of Rev. Fr. Dennis Duene Ruiz, OAD, whose dedication helped establish and nurture the OAD Lay, allowing lay faithful to discover and live the Augustinian Discalced charism in their daily lives.

We are likewise deeply grateful for Rev. Fr. Renan William Ilustrisimo, OAD, Vicar General, for his service to the Order, his pastoral presence, and his continued support and guidance to the faithful and to the OAD Lay community.

As they celebrate this beautiful milestone together, may their shared journey of priesthood continue to be a testimony of fraternity, communion, and unwavering service to God.

May Saint Augustine of Hippo, our Holy Father, continue to intercede for them, that they may always seek God with undivided hearts and faithfully proclaim the truth of the Gospel. May Saint Monica, model of perseverance in prayer, accompany them in their ministry. And may Our Lady of Consolation, Mother and Patroness of the Augustinian family, continue to guide and protect them as they serve Christ and His Church.

May the Lord grant them renewed strength, wisdom, good health, joy, and perseverance as they continue their sacred ministry. May He reward their sacrifices and bless every person whose life has been touched through their priesthood.
