A Life Like Jesus: Timeless Truths From the Rock of Ages
Sermon 5: Why Should You Resolve Conflict Quickly?

Magandang buhay, Church!

A Life Like Jesus: Timeless Truths From the Rock of Ages
Sermon 5: Why Should You Resolve Conflict Quickly?

Good morning, Church! Join us this Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Subic Bay Community of Faith!

True worship that is pleasing to God begins with a heart free from resentment, anger, and bitterness. As followers of Christ, we are called to prioritize conflict resolution and be peacemakers. When we allow unresolved offense or pride to linger, small misunderstandings quickly turn into damaged relationships and hinder our walk with God.

Today, P. Mau Rivera opens Matthew 5:21-26 to teach us why and how we must settle conflicts quickly.

To Prioritize Conflict Resolution, We Must:
• Recognize Destructive Anger: God is concerned with what is happening in our hearts, not just our outward actions. Uncontrolled anger leads to insult, contempt, and destruction; we must pause, pray, and ask the Holy Spirit for self-control before responding.

• Make Reconciliation a Priority: Our worship before God is directly tied to how we treat others. Jesus calls us to take the first step toward peace by humbling ourselves, admitting wrong, and seeking forgiveness before issues linger.

• Resolve Conflicts Before They Escalate: Unaddressed issues grow into much bigger problems over time. Do not allow pride or silence to give the devil a foothold in your home, workplace, or church family.

Message Summary: Practice self-control, choose forgiveness, and take the first step to resolve conflict so that you can worship God with a clean heart and a clear conscience.

Sermon 4: Where Do You Turn When Storms Hit?

Magandang buhay, Church!

A Life Like Jesus: Timeless Truths From the Rock of Ages
Sermon 4: Where Do You Turn When Storms Hit?

Good morning, Church! Join us this Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 10:30 AM for our Sunday Worship at Subic Bay Community of Faith!

Just like the physical storms brought by heavy rains, the storms of life—whether family problems, financial struggles, broken relationships, or health issues—can come suddenly. When everything is going well and a storm suddenly hits, where do you turn? Some rely on their own strength, while others turn to distractions to escape the pain.

Today, we take a look at Matthew 8:23-27 to see what happened when a furious storm hit the disciples' boat, and how Jesus taught them to trust Him in the middle of chaos.

When You Turn to Jesus, Remember That:
• Jesus Allows Storms: Sometimes God allows us to go through storms to remind us that some things are beyond our control and our own strength is not enough. It often takes a difficult situation to remind us to turn to our Savior and focus on what truly matters—deepening our relationship with Him.

• Jesus Remains Present: Jesus was sleeping in the boat during the storm, but His apparent silence did not mean He had abandoned His disciples. The presence of a storm does not mean the absence of Jesus; He goes with us through every difficult situation to strengthen our faith.

• Jesus Is The Authority: Jesus is not merely a teacher; He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. When He rebuked the winds and the waves, they immediately obeyed Him, proving that no storm in our lives is too great for Him to handle.

Message Summary: Do not try to face the storm on your own. When you submit to the authority of Jesus and follow His leading, you will experience His peace and power at work in your life.

A Life Like Jesus: Timeless Truths From the Rock of Ages

Sermon 3: How Do You Listen In Prayer?

Good morning, Church! Join us this Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 10:30 AM for our Sunday Worship at Subic Bay Community of Faith!

Prayer was never meant to be a religious forced routine or a personal request hotline where we simply present our needs to God. Instead, it is a dynamic conversation and a beautiful invitation to hear God's voice, discern His will, and deepen our relationship with Him. Learning to truly listen to the Lord is a vital spiritual discipline that equips us to understand His instructions and respond with faithful obedience.

Today, P. Mau Rivera takes us to Mark 1:35-39 to explore how Jesus Himself modeled this profound dependence on the Father. By examining how Christ intentionally sought quiet solitude to listen to God's direction, we will discover how to cultivate a disciplined prayer life and develop spiritual ears that are highly sensitive to the Lord's leading.

To Be Connected with Christ, We Must:

• Have a Disciplined Prayer Life: Even though Jesus was fully God, He modeled dependence on the Father by waking up very early and going to a solitary place to pray without distractions. The prayer life of Jesus reminds us that the first voice we should hear when we begin our day is God’s.

• Have the Discernment to Know His Voice: Not every good opportunity is the direction God wants us to take. The crowds wanted Jesus to stay in Capernaum, but after spending time in prayer, He discerned the Father's will to move to nearby villages instead. Remember, when God truly speaks, His message will never contradict the Bible.

• Have Dedication to Obey: Hearing God's voice must lead to action. When we practice listening in prayer and God gives us clear instructions or promptings, we must respond in obedience—even when His direction is different from our original plans.

Message Summary: Do not stop at simply listening to His voice. When you act on what God reveals to you, you will experience more of His presence, deepen your relationship with Him, and discover the joy of living in accordance with His will.
