𝐆𝐎𝐃'𝐒 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐃𝐎𝐄𝐒𝐍'𝐓 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐏 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐔𝐒.

Sometimes when we hear the story of Jonah, we immediately think about a prophet who ran away from God.

God said, “Go to Nineveh.”

Jonah went the opposite direction.

He tried to run from God's instruction, and eventually found himself in the middle of a storm, inside a great fish, and facing the consequences of his disobedience.

But this time, let us look at Jonah's story from a different perspective.

Not just through the disobedience of Jonah, but through the goodness of God.

Because even when Jonah ran, God pursued him.

Even when Jonah resisted, God continued His purpose.

Even when Jonah failed, God gave him another opportunity to obey.

Why?

Because God's goodness is persistent.

He pursues us in our restlessness.
He receives us in our sinfulness.
He holds us in our brokenness.

Minsan tayo ang lumalayo kay Lord.

Minsan alam naman natin kung ano ang gusto Niyang gawin natin, pero pinipili nating mag-delay.

Minsan sinasabi natin, “Lord, susunod ako… pero hindi ngayon.”

But we are reminded:

Delayed obedience is also disobedience.

And sometimes, our disobedience doesn't affect us alone. It can affect the people around us—our family, our friends, our ministry, and the people God has placed in our lives.

But here's another beautiful truth from the story of Jonah:

God's goodness is not limited by our boundaries.

Jonah didn't want Nineveh to receive God's mercy.

But God did.

The Ninevites turned from their evil ways, humbled themselves, and called upon God. And when God saw their repentance, He had compassion on them.

This reminds us that God's grace is bigger than the people we think deserve it.

His goodness is not only for people like us.

Not only for people inside the church.

Not only for people we like.

God's goodness extends beyond boundaries.

And maybe that's where the story of Jonah becomes personal for us.

Who is your “Nineveh”?

Who is the person you struggle to forgive?

Who is the person you don't want to see blessed?

Who is the person you think is too far gone for God to change?

Maybe God is reminding us today:

My goodness is bigger than your boundaries.

The same grace that pursued you
can pursue them.

The same compassion that found you
can find them.

The same God who patiently called you back
can call them back too.

So instead of becoming like Jonah—angry that God was merciful—may we become instruments of that mercy.

Let God use our lives to extend His goodness, His grace, His compassion, and His love to the people around us.

Sa family natin.
Sa workplace.
Sa school.
Sa friends natin.
Sa community.
Even to those who may not yet know Him.

Because God is good.

And His goodness doesn't stop with us.

Let God use you as an instrument of His goodness. ❤️

“The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The Lord is good to all; He has compassion on all He has made.”
— Psalm 145:8–9

🙏 May we not only receive God's goodness—may our lives become a channel through which others experience it.

𝐆𝐎𝐃 𝐈𝐒 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃 — 𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄

There are moments when life feels uncertain.

May mga araw na hindi natin alam kung ano ang mangyayari.
May mga pagkakataong hindi natin kontrolado ang sitwasyon.
At minsan, kahit anong gawin natin, parang wala tayong magawa kundi manalangin at magtiwala.

But Psalm 23 reminds us of something we should never forget:

𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝—𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞.

Not only when everything is going well.

Not only when our prayers are answered.

Not only when we are safe, comfortable, and blessed.

𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲.

The Lord is our Shepherd.

He leads us when we don't know where to go.
He provides when we feel like we have nothing.
He restores us when we are weary.
He guides us when we are confused.
He protects us when we are afraid.
And even when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, He is with us.

And perhaps one of the most beautiful promises in Psalm 23 is this:

“𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐬.”

Hindi kailangang maging perfect muna ang paligid bago natin maranasan ang goodness ng Diyos.

Even in the middle of chaos, 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞.

Even in difficult seasons, we can still celebrate His goodness.

Even when our cup doesn't look full, we can still recognize the blessings we often overlook—our health, our strength, our peace, our family, another morning, another breath, another opportunity to worship.

Because God's goodness is not measured only by what we receive.

𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐇𝐞 𝐢𝐬.

So whatever valley you are walking through today, remember:

You are not walking alone.

𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐝.

And because He is with you, you can keep going.

“𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫.”
— Psalm 23:6

Church, whatever happens around us, let us continue to trust Him.

Let us continue to pray.

Let us continue to worship.

Let us continue to depend on our Great Shepherd.

Because when everything changes, God remains the same.

𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝.

𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐆𝐎𝐃 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐒 𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒

“𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑙 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐿𝑜𝑟𝑑 𝑎𝑠𝑘𝑒𝑑 ℎ𝑖𝑚, ‘𝑊ℎ𝑦 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑏𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑛 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑑𝑜𝑛𝑘𝑒𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑠𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑟𝑒𝑒 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑠?’ — Numbers 22:32

Minsan, tulad ni Balaam, sobrang focused tayo sa direction na gusto nating puntahan na hindi na natin napapansin na may ginagawa pala ang Diyos para pigilan, itama, o ilihis tayo.

Nakakainis kapag may bagay na hindi umaayon sa plano natin.

Akala natin may humahadlang.

Akala natin malas.

Akala natin bakit parang ang hirap ng lahat.

Pero what if, like Balaam’s donkey, 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐞?

The amazing part of this story is that Balaam couldn't see what his donkey could see.

The donkey saw the angel.

Balaam didn't.

And because Balaam couldn't see the danger, 𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐦.

Sometimes, we can do the same thing.

We become frustrated with the delay.

We become angry at the closed door.

We question the person, situation, or circumstance that seems to be getting in our way.

Pero baka kailangan lang nating manalangin:

“𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝, 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬.”

Not just:

“Lord, remove this obstacle.”

But:

“𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝, 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐦𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬.”

Because sometimes, what looks like an interruption is actually 𝐆𝐨𝐝'𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

What looks like a closed door may be 𝐆𝐨𝐝'𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

And what looks like a setback may be 𝐆𝐨𝐝'𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

The question is not always, “𝐿𝑜𝑟𝑑, 𝑏𝑎𝑘𝑖𝑡 𝑀𝑜 ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑎ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑎𝑛?”

Sometimes the better question is:

“𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢 𝐤𝐨 𝐧𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐭𝐚?"

God, open our eyes.

Open our hearts.

Give us the humility to recognize Your leading—even when You speak through unexpected circumstances.

And when You reveal what we couldn't see before, give us the courage to listen and obey.

🙏 𝐿𝑜𝑟𝑑, 𝑜𝑝𝑒𝑛 𝑚𝑦 𝑒𝑦𝑒𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑒𝑒 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑡𝑟𝑦𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑚𝑒. 𝐻𝑒𝑙𝑝 𝑚𝑒 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑓𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠 𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑚𝑎𝑦 𝑏𝑒 𝑢𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 𝑔𝑢𝑖𝑑𝑒, 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑡𝑒𝑐𝑡, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑡 𝑚𝑒. 𝐺𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑚𝑒 𝑎 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑙𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎 𝑙𝑖𝑓𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑜𝑏𝑒𝑦𝑠. 𝐴𝑚𝑒𝑛.

“𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬, 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲—𝐰𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲.”

THE JOY KILLERS OF A BELIEVER

Maraming bagay ang maaaring kumuha ng joy natin.

Unconfessed sin.
Comparison and envy.
Hardships and trials.
The attacks of the enemy.
Even neglecting God's Word and prayer.

At minsan, hindi natin namamalayan, unti-unti nang nawawala ang kagalakan natin habang nakafocus tayo sa mga bagay na nangyayari sa paligid natin.

Pero sa preaching natin this Sunday, pinaalalahanan tayo ni Ptr. Kaix na hindi lang natin dapat bantayan ang ating puso—kailangan din nating bantayan ang ating joy.

Kapag napapagod tayo, lumapit tayo kay Lord.

Kapag naiinggit tayo at nagsisimulang ikumpara ang sarili natin sa iba, bumalik tayo sa Kanyang presensya.

Kapag mabigat ang trials, tandaan natin na hindi ibig sabihin ng pagpapahinga ay pagsuko.

At kapag inaakusahan tayo ng kaaway dahil sa ating past, alalahanin natin na kay Cristo, may restoration at bagong buhay.

Because at the end of the day, the answer is not simply to avoid every joy killer.

The answer is to keep coming back to the Joy Giver.

“In Your presence there is fullness of joy.” — Psalm 16:11

Maaaring maraming dahilan para mawala ang ating joy, pero mas dakila ang Diyos na pinanggagalingan nito.

Huwag lang tayong maging busy sa Kingdom. Make sure we still have time for our King.

Ngayong linggo, let’s choose to focus on the Lord—not just on His blessings, but on the Blesser.

May ang tunay na kagalakan natin ay hindi nakaugat sa circumstances, sa season ng buhay, o sa kung anong meron tayo.

Let our joy be rooted in the presence of God.
