Addressing Stunting, Early Childhood Care and Development Challenges, and Literacy Gaps.

Through our newly appointed Executive Director, Rev. Fr. John Michael Guilleno, our social action office is working on a new partnership with San Roque Parish to address malnutrition and improve literacy through the PIE-MILYA Program. This program focuses on providing proper nutrition during Pregnancy, Infancy, and Early childhood—especially during those first one to two thousand days of life.

Did you know? One in four Filipino children is stunted. This has long-lasting effects on their brain development and can affect their growth, school performance, and chances of finishing school. Many children don’t get enough protein and fats because of issues with access, affordability, and availability.

It’s time for us to take action and support our children’s health and future.

Our Youth Servant Leaders on the Go!

The Youth Servant Leadership Education Program aims to empower our Youth Servant Leaders (YSLs) to strengthen their leadership capabilities and foster a sense of social responsibility while pursuing their college education.

Through this program component, YSLs are being cultivated as community service-oriented individuals, embodying the principle that one should not only be competent but also compassionate and virtuous.

Congratulations to our outgoing Social Action Center of Zambales Executive Director, Rev. Fr. John Remel M. Mara, Managing Director of Saint John 23rd Resources, Corp., and incoming Oeconomus, for successfully completing the Church Management (PCM) modules.

Organized by UA&P SEABS in partnership with the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross – Rome, this program aims to strengthen church leadership, stewardship, and mission-driven service.

TARA NA AT MAG-YLSEP!

The Orientation, Examination, and Interview sessions for applicants of the Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program (YSLEP) for AY 2026-2027 have officially commenced at San Sebastian Vicariate through the Holy Infant Parish.

Launched last year by the Diocesan Social Action Center in partnership with the Caritas Manila and participating parishes, YSLEP is a comprehensive development program designed to nurture the youth’s knowledge, skills, and attitudes toward self-leadership, moral integrity, and social responsibility.

More than just a scholarship, YSLEP is a servant leadership initiative that aims to empower young people to serve with humility, compassion, and a strong sense of community.

Program on Church Management

Our very own Social Action Center Executive Director proudly strikes a pose alongside distinguished church leaders: Caritas Philippines Executive Director, Rev. Fr. Carmelo “Tito” Caluag and the Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, His Excellency Most Rev. Charles John Brown. Today, Fr. Tito and His Excellency were the esteemed lecturer for the Program on Church Management.

For the past few weeks, Fr. John has been actively participating in this vital program held at the University of Asia and the Pacific in Manila, in collaboration with MCE at the Pontificia Università della Santa Croce. This initiative marks a significant step toward developing church leaders who are equipped to serve with competence, responsibility, and a genuine spirit of stewardship.

The program is designed to strengthen the leadership skills of both clergy and lay leaders, emphasizing stewardship and mission-driven service — precisely the direction the Church is called to pursue today.

As our Executive Director prepares to embrace his new role as Oeconomus of the Diocese, effective June 1, while continuing his responsibilities as Managing Director of Saint John 23rd Resources, Corp., this course represents a meaningful beginning. It’s an opportunity to enhance not only his technical expertise but also to deepen his heart for service.
