Olongapo City: Sama- Samang Kumikilos Laban sa Trafficking (sa Komunidad na ALERTO, Lahat Protektado)

The Social Action Center of Zambales (SACZ) is one with the Philippines Against Child Trafficking (PACT) and City Government of Olongapo in its fight against human trafficking.

World Day Against Human Trafficking raises global awareness about the severe issue of human trafficking and its impact on millions of victims. It emphasizes the importance of collective action and international cooperation to prevent trafficking and protect vulnerable populations. The day also highlights the need for stronger laws, support systems, and education to eradicate this modern-day form of slavery.

In pursuit of improved implementation and to prepare for the upcoming Orientation Program for new and present YSLs and their Holy Spirit Mass on July 30, the core group of the Youth Servant Leadership Education Program (YSLEP) of the Diocese of Iba held a meeting. Facilitated by our YSLEP Coordinator, Bro. Rodolfo B. Villanueva, the session focused on exploring potential opportunities for social apostolates that will foster growth and development among our Youth Servant Leaders. Additionally, the meeting enable to review the inventory of documents required for the compliance of our YSLs and discussed other upcoming schedules.

YSLEP Evaluation and Completion of Documents

The Youth Servant Leaders for the academic year 2025-2026 convened to diligently complete and evaluate their documents for the renewal of their scholarships.

Facilitated by the diocesan coordinator, Bro. Rodolfo B. Villanueva, the activity reflected SACZ's steadfast commitment to supporting the Youth Servant Leaders

Following the documentation process, a meeting was held in preparation for the upcoming Reorientation of new and present Youth Servant Leaders and Holy Spirit Mass scheduled for July 30. This sequence of activities underscores SACZ's unwavering dedication to nurturing and empowering the youth leaders in their spiritual and academic journey.

The Social Action Center of Zambales recently carried out house visits, interviews, and profiling as part of the initial phase of the PIEmilya project. This activity was supported by Sindol Barangay Health Workers (BHWs).

The PIE Program—standing for Pregnancy, Infancy, and Early Childhood—is a three-year initiative dedicated to tackling pressing issues such as childhood stunting, gaps in early childhood care and development, and challenges related to literacy and bullying. Through this comprehensive approach, the program aims to foster healthier, more resilient young generations.

As Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." This initiative reflects our commitment to nurturing and guiding our children toward a brighter future rooted in faith and love.

Charity in Action: Food Augmentation Program Honoring George Ty’s Legacy

The Social Action Center of Zambales, conducted the PAGTITIPON, a food augmentation program, at the Missionaries of Charity, in partnership with GT Foundation and Caritas Philippines, in honor of the life and legacy of George Ty.

The activity commenced with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by our SACZ Executive Director, Rev. Fr. John Michael M. Guilleno. This was followed by the turn-over of goods, symbolizing our collective effort to provide vital assistance to those struggling with hunger and poverty, and bringing comfort to those in greatest need. The dedication of the foundation to alleviating food insecurity is truly commendable, and their tireless efforts have left a meaningful and lasting impact on many lives.

As the Executive Director’s homily reminded us, God does not forget His children. As we are blessed by His grace, let us always cultivate gratitude and continue to serve with love and compassion.

Lighting the Way to a Brighter Future:
Empowering Communities with Solar Energy

Promoting the use of solar energy and to help the communities with less access to electricity, the distribution of solar headlamps to seventy recipients in Sitio Riverside Lawin, San Rafael, San Marcelino, Zambales, was conducted in partnership with One Million Lights Philippines and its partner students from the International School of Manila. This activity was carried out in coordination with St. William Parish.

Since 2010, One Million Lights Philippines has been committed to providing safe, clean, and affordable solar-powered lighting solutions to off-grid communities, supporting sustainable development and improving the quality of life for underserved populations.
