STEWARDSHIP OF TEMPLE

MEANING OF TEMPLE:
: a building for religious practice : a place devoted to a special purpose
MEANING OF BODY:
the physical structure of a person or an animal, including the bones, flesh, and organs.
3 BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES ON HOW TO BECOME GOOD STEWARD OF OUR TEMPLE/ (BODY)
1. THE TEMPLE IS OUR BODY
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
I any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
I Corinthians 3:16-17
-Our body is important to God.
-He created it (Genesis 1:27).
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27
-Some day he will raise it from the dead
51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumper.
For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.
I Corinthians 15:51-52
2. THE TEMPLE IS HOLY
(God's Temple is Sacred and you are that temple)
for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
I Corinthians 3:17b
~ The Old Testament temple was a holy place for worship, Our bodies are to be used the same way.
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, al by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
Romans 12:1
3. THE TEMPLE IS WHERE
GOD LIVES
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
I Corinthians 3:16
How can we take care of and use our bodies so that I the Holy Spirit would like to live there?
-DO NOT USE YOUR BODIES TO SIN BUT FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS
13 Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.
Romans 6:13
-DO NOT QUENCH THE HOLY SPIRIT
19 Do not quench the Spirit
I Thessalonians 5:19
-BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT
And do not get drunk with w**e, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,
Ephesians 5:18
-DO EVERYTHING FOR GOD'S GLORY
31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
I Corinthians 10:31
CONCLUSION
•IF WE WANT TO BECOME A GOOD STEWARD OF OUR TEMPLE/BODY, WE NEED TO REMEMBER AND PUT INTO PRACTICE THE BIBLIICAL PRINCIPLES OF USING OUR
EMPLE/BODY, THAT
1. THE TEMPLE IS OUR BODY
2. THE TEMPLE IS HOLY
(God's Temple is Sacred and you are that temple)
3. THE TEMPLE IS WHERE
GOD LIVES
