Habakkuk had great difficulties. But greater than his difficulties, was his personal hold upon the Lord. And one of the valuable lessons that shine through his experience is the lesson of what believers should do with their problems. Jus as Habakkuk took his difficulties to God, so we should take to our heavenly Father every burden that weighs upon our hearts, all injustices and difficulties in life, every perplexity we cannot understand. A sober consideration of Nahum carries with it a powerful call to repentance, even for men today. This book provides a balance to the watered down namby-pamby idea of the Diety that is all too prevalent in our times.

It is dangerous thing when God's people have their capacity for moral indignation blunted and when they can look upon evil unmoved. It is grow callous to wickedness, nor does it mean there are not times when we must, if we are to retain our moral integrity, cry out to heaven against outrageous evil.
