RYC4 | RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD: PINAGSISIKAPAN O TINATANGGAP?

“Kailangan nating magkaroon ng relasyon sa Diyos”

Narinig mo na ba ito? Kadalasan na itong itnituro ngayon sa mga pulpits, campings or anumang religious gatherings na ninanais ang isang revival ng spiritual life at itaas si Jesus. Tinatawag ito kadalasan na “saving relationship” with God.

Pero what if ang ganitong concept or idea ay “patago” or subtle form ng righteousness by works of self? What if patago itong form ng legalism?

Oo, tama ang iyong nabasa, kasi may tendency na pwede itong maipagmalaki as, “worthy ako sa langit kasi nag-establish ako ng relationship ko sa Panginoon” or “may relasyon kasi ako sa Panginoon kaya maliligtas ako”

Alam ko di ka maniniwala agad, OK lang yan. Pero payagan mo muna kaming magexplain.

Let's be clear!

Need ba ng tao ang relasyon sa Dios?

Yes absolutely! No question na dun.

Pero ang tanong, kaya ba ng tao na mag build or magestablish ng relasyon sa Diyos?

Absolutely no! Bakit? Romans 3:11 says “There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.”

Malinaw na wala naman talagang gumagawa nito sa Diyos and therefore lahat ay bagsak or hindi pasado na maka-establish ng relationship sa Diyos.

Eh hindi ba required ng Diyos na magkaroon tayo ng relasyon sa Kanya, kung titingnan ang Isaiah 55: 7; Jer. 29:13 at Prov. 8:17?

Yes, tama ung mga talata, pero ang tanong able ba ng tao?

Sad to say no, bakit? Romans 8: 7 says “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.” Kaya “they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” (v. 8)

Teka, hindi ba pwedeng by faith, by the grace of God or I can do all things through Christ, makakapagestablish tayo ng relationship sa Kanya?

Naiintindihan namin ang sinasabi mo, pero kadalasan palamuti or decoration lang ang mga phrases na ito eh pero in the end failed pa rin kasi “the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and THESE ARE CONTRARY THE ONE TO THE OTHER: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” (Gal. 5:17).

E kung ganun pala, eh bakit pa tayo hinihikayat ng Bible na magkaroon ng personal devotion or personal bible study (see 2 Tim. 2:15; 3:16,17), magpray (1 Thessa. 5:17) or do witnessing (Matt. 28:19-20), eh hindi pala naman nito kayang magestablish ang relasyon natin sa Panginoon?

Teka, para masagot natin ang tanong na ito, mas maganda sigurong itanong, bakit ka nga ba nagppray, bakit ka nag-nanais na magkaroon ng personal study ng Bible, at bakit ka sumasali sa pag witness?

Ginagawa mo ba ito para magestablish ng relationship sa Panginoon (as if ang Diyos ay naghihintay lang sa initiative mo) or ang mga ito ay evidence lang na tinatanggap mo ang “already established” relationship ni Jesus with the Father para sayo (see 2 Cor. 5:19) ?

Ang sagot po ay, may personal study tayo ng Bible, nagppray tayo and we are witnessing for Him kasi tinatanggap natin ang “already established” relationship ni Jesus with the Father. Kaya nga “we are accepted IN the Beloved” (Eph. 1:6). Sabi pa nga sa Colossians 2
10 “ye are complete in Him,”

Hindi mo na kailangan na magestablish pa ng relationship sa Diyos kasi already established na un “in Christ”

Kaya ang dahilan kaya tayo nagba-bible study personally, bakit tayo nagppray earnestly or do witnessing is that:

1. Patay na or tinanggap na nating patay na si old self (see Rom. 6:6; Gal. 2:20), kaya kahit pagsurrender mo sa Kanya ay walang merit or hindi fucos na parang mas mahal ka na ng Diyos ngayon dahil nagsurrender ka (bagaman mahalaga ang self surrender). Mahal ka na ng Diyos bago ka pa magsurrender.

2. Si Cristo na ang nabubuhay sa atin (Gal. 2:20; Col. 1:27) or Christ is our life (Col. 3:4) kaya nga “we are saved by His life” (Rom. 5:10). At ung life Nya ay already may relationship na with the Father. Ayaw mo ba nun nakapackage na ung mga need mo in Christ?

Ibig sabihin natural nalang na papayag ka na magkaroon ng personal bible study, prayerful life at witnessing, hindi para magestablish ng isa pang relationship sa Diyos kundi dahil ang buhay ni Cristo ay nasa iyo na (Gal. 4:19) at ang buhay ni Cristo ay talagang may personal devotion, prayerful at may mission to be a witness and “by the obedience of one [Christ] shall many be made righteous” (Rom. 5:19). At syempre ang lahat ng nakay Cristo ay mga new creature na (Eph. 2:10; 2 Cor. 5:17).

Matagal ng may relasyon ang Diyos sayo dahil kay Cristo, bago ka pa makapagisip na mag-bible study, magpray at magwitness para sa Kanya (Rom. 5:6, 8). Kaya wag mo ng pahirapan ang sarili mo na magestablish pa ng another relationship sa Kanya. Day by day ay tanggapin mo at payagan ang already established relationship ng Diyos sayo in Christ na possible na mangyayari dahil sa creative power of the Word (Ps. 33:9; Isaiah 55:11).

RYC3 | GRACE: DESERVE KO BA ITO?

Napakasayang karanasan ang mapatawad sa pamamagitan ng Grace of God, hindi ba? Pero deserved ko ba un o hindi?

Ito ang tanong siguro ng marami sa atin, pero ano nga ba ang gospel sa likod nito? Ano nga ba ang bunga nito if deserve ko o hindi ang Grace na ibinigay ni Jesus sakin? Ating alamin ito, kasi sabi sa Rom. 12:3 ang dapat sukatan natin ay hindi sa feelings natin kundi sa “measure of faith” na ibinigay sa atin.

Pero ano nga ba talaga? Ang totoo we don't deserved the grace of God. Sabi kasi sa Romans 3: 12 NIV “All have turned away, they have together BECOME WORTHLESS; there is no one who does good, not even one.” Becoming worthless ay not worthy diba? Ibig sabihin not being worthy means not deserving.¹

YET binigyan ni Jesus tayo ng another chance hindi dahil deserve natin yun kundi “He does not treat us as our sins deserved or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him” (Ps 103: 10, 11)

Bakit? Kasi “as a father has compassion in his children, so the Lord has compassion on this who fear Him” (v.13)

Kung we really deserve ang forgiveness sa atin, eh di hindi na yun grace, kasi “Grace is an attribute of God exercised toward UNDESERVING HUMAN BEINGS. WE DID NOT SEEK FOR IT, BUT IT WAS SENT IN SEARCH OF US. God rejoices to bestow His grace upon us, not because we are worthy, but because we are so utterly unworthy. Our only claim to His mercy is our great need.” (Ellen G. White, The Ministry of Healing pg. 161.)

Kaya nga even si David walang pwedeng ipagmalaki nung nagpasalamat sya sa Diyos (see 1 Chron. 29: 10-22) kasi bago dumating ang Eph. 2: 8-9, alam na ni David ang real meaning ng grace. Kaya hindi katakataka kung bakit nasabi niya na “But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? FOR ALL THINGS COME OF THEE, AND OF THINE OWN HAVE WE GIVEN THEE.” (1 Chron. 29: 14)

Pero hindi ito sinasabi sa atin para ma-depressed tayo kundi para makita ito sa light ng Gospel. Sa ganun, kahit na I or we don't deserved it, blessed naman tayo na mabigyan ng grace of God nung pinatawad tayo ni Jesus, para iyon ang motivation natin to respond sa love ni Jesus Christ.

Kahit si Apostle Paul naranasan ito, kaya nga nasabi niya na “Here is a true statement that should be accepted without question: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, and I am the worst of them. But I was given mercy so that in me Christ Jesus could show that he has patience without limit. Christ showed his patience with me, the worst of all sinners. He wanted me to be an example for those who would believe in him and have eternal life.”
(1 Tim. 1:15-16)

Kasi magkaiba ang “deserved” sa “Blessed.” Ang word na “Deserve” means mayroon kang right to own a thing kaya pwede mong masabi na “deserved ko to, ” na in reality ganito ang result “I have the right to be given a second chance” that leads to pride katulad ng Pharisee (see Luke 18: 11). Pero ang word na “Blessed” means hindi mo deserved yun pero dahil sa loving and merciful grace ng Diyos natatanggap mo ang forgiveness hindi dahil worthy tayo kundi dahil God loves you so much kahit na He doesn't tolerate sin. Ano ang resulta? Pagpapakumbaba at pagpapasalamat ng puso gaya ng sa Publican (see Luke 18: 13, 14). Kaya naman hindi ito “reward” sa atin kundi gift (see 2 Cor. 9:15; Eph. 2:8, 4:7; James 1:17)

Tandaan, “And if He chose them by grace, then it is not what they have done that made them His people. If they could be made his people by what they did, his gift of grace would not really be a gift.” (Romans 11:6 ERV).

RYC2 | CROSS OF CHRIST: GAANO ITO KALAPIT SA ATIN?

May mga time ba sa iyong buhay na naisip mo na parang malayo ang Diyos sa'yo lalo na kapag sa time na we fall into temptation and sin? Naku don't worry, hindi ka nag-iisa, kahit kami na feel din namin ang ganyan. Pero ang totoo, “he is not far from any of us” (Acts 17:27), dahil kay Jesus (2 Cor. 5:18, 19) sa pamamagitan ng Holy Spirit (John 14: 17, 18).¹

Paano naging possible yon? Kasi ang Holy Spirit ay may dalang power (Acts 1:8) at iyon ay ang “power of God” na nasa Gospel (Rom. 1: 16) of the Cross (1 Cor. 1: 18). At kung nasaan ang Cross, naroon din si Jesus (icompare sa v. 24).

Kaya nga sabi ni Paul, “For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” (1 Cor. 1: 2)

Pero nasaan nga ba ang cross of Christ?

Ito ba ay noong A. D. 31 only?

Ito ba yung literal na kahoy na pinagpakuan kay Jesus sa Calvary?

Or ito ay isang experience din ng mga tumanggap ng Gospel?

Gusto mo ba malaman? Notice this:

1. Kung nasaan ang “lamb of God” (John 1:29) naroon din ang cross of Christ dahil ang sacrifice ni Jesus ay hindi lang noong A. D. 31 kundi ever since “the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Rev. 13:8).

Oo actual na nangyari ang crucifixion ni Jesus noong AD. 31, pero ang experiential power nito ay hindi lang naka-fucos sa year na iyon kasi few years after ng AD. 31, sinabi pa rin ni Paul sa Galatian brethren na “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, CRUCIFIED AMONG YOU?” (Gal. 3: 1). Kaya naman present reality ang cross of Christ throughout ng history ng mankind.²

2. Hindi ibig sabihin nito na mula Genesis to Revelation ay paulit-ulit naipako si Jesus, hindi yon pwede (see Heb. 9: 28; 10: 10). Kundi ang daily experience ng cross ay present reality (see Gal. 2:20; 1 Cor. 15: 31).³ Kaya kung nasaan ang sin at sinners, naroon ang cross of Christ, dahil kung nasaan ang gospel naroon ang cross (1 Cor. 1: 17).⁴

Kaya nasaan ang Cross of Christ? Naroon ito kung saan ikaw at ako ay naroroon — sa kasalanan or sa panahong lugmok tayo sa sin, hindi para pabayaan ang sinner na tuluyang maging wicked, kundi upang iligtas tayo mula sa sin (Matt. 1:21).

Kasi sabi sa Ephesians 2: 16, “And that He [JESUS] might reconcile both unto God in one body BY THE CROSS, having SLAIN THEIR ENMITY thereby:”

Pero nasaan ba ang enmity natin sa Diyos, na need patayin? Di ba nasa heart mismo natin (see Rom. 8:7), kaya naroon din ang Cross as power para patayin ang enmity na ito.

E diba ang sacrifice Nya ay for the whole world? E Di damay na ang individual enmity natin sa Diyos? Totoo na for the whole world un at affected ang lahat eventhough we were yet sinners (Rom. 5: 8), pero marami namang hindi pa nakakaalam na ang Cross lang ang magtatanggal ng enmity na iyon sa atin.

Kaya nga sa v. 17 ng Eph. 2 after sabihin ung nasa v. 16 ay nagsabi ng ganito:
“And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.”
Bakit? Kasi sa lahat ng tao na tatanggapin ng power ng Cross, ay daily na iaaply ang pag crucify sa Old carnal heart ng tao (hindi ang paulit-ulit na pag crucify kay Jesus), un ang individual applications ng Cross na already made na in Christ, para sa whole world (see 2 Cor. 5: 18-21; 6: 1, 2), dahil ang promise Niya ay:

“God is our refuge and strength, A VERY PRESENT HELP IN TROUBLE.” (Ps. 46:1)

Kaya huwag nating isiping malayo si Jesus at ang Kanyang cross sayo!ⁿ
