The space
Our guesthouse is ideal for groups of 12 or more who want to stay on a native guesthouse in a local community. Our newly built native guesthouse is constructed from bamboo and lumber with large window verandas (berha as known by the locals). Oscillating ceiling fans are installed throughout the guesthouse if you feel the natural breeze isn't enough. The guesthouse is nestled in a 1,720 square meters of fenced lot dotted with 19 coconut trees bearing fruit year round and 3 Guimaras Mango trees. Should your stay coincide with the mango season, help yourselves to taste the mango for free. Coconut (buko) though is sold at PhP 30.00.
The guesthouse has 2 bedrooms with double beds but can accommodate more guest on its large living area and the "berhas". Guest can cook their own meals, build a campfire and enjoy star gazing while playing the provided guitar. Interact with the neighbor for a shot or two of the local rhum and have a chit chat to know more about the community and the nearby tourist attractions. To accomodate more guest you can erect camping tents at no additional cost. Possibilities are endless for guests who want a simple guesthouse and nature bonding
Guest access
A tv set (with "Cignal" reception)is provided but who would watch tv if all else is enjoying the singing around a campfire.
Other things to note
Since the guesthouse is located in a local community don't expect the place to be at par with the bigger hotel and resorts. The site has electricity but water is coming from the community well(spring) and guest are provided with the water for bathing fetched from the well by our caretaker and stored in a drum. Drinking water should be purchased though from the neighboring stores. Personal provisions such as bath towels, blankets and bathroom tissues are not available so you should bring your own. Be mindful of falling coconuts when strolling around the property.
The neighborhood
The guesthouse is located in Nueva Valencia, Guimaras, Philippines in a local community and is ideal for those who want a good night sleep in a peaceful and serene environment where the only noise you can hear at night are the occasional barking of dogs, the sound of the leaves being swayed by the wind and the shrills of nocturnal insects. Immediate neighbors are only 3, the nearest which is about 30 meters from the guesthouse is that of the caretaker.
