October 21 || PPC GENERAL ASSEMBLY

The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) General Assembly is currently ongoing, spearheaded by our Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Carlos D. Cruz, together with Rev. Fr. Carlo Soro, Parochial Vicar, and Bro. Archie Cruz, PPC Co-Chair.

The assembly serves as a venue for discussion and coordination of parish undertakings for October, November, and December, particularly the Fiesta Celebration and the Liturgical and Pastoral Activities for the Advent Season.

Through this assembly, may the spirit of collaboration and service be further strengthened as the parish continues its mission of fostering faith and unity within the community.

STATEMENT ON THE CANONICAL STATUS OF FR. ROGELIO CRUZ

Fr. Rogelio “Fr. Roger” Cruz, a priest from the Diocese of Malolos, recently decided to join the so-called Traditionalist Roman Catholic Church of Australia Sui Juris Latin Rite, Inc., an organization which is not in communion with the Roman Catholic Church.

Such act incurs him a Latae Sententiae (automatic) Excommunication stated in Canon 1364 of the 1983 Code of Canon Law:

§ 1. An apostate from the faith, a heretic or a schismatic incurs a latae sententiae excommunication... Schism means a refusal of submission to the Supreme Pontiff or of communion with the members of the Church subject to him (Canon 751).

This is an offence against the faith and the unity of the Church.

Those under the penalty of excommunication is prohibited from the following according to Canon 1331 §1:
1° from celebrating the Sacrifice of the Eucharist and the other sacraments;
2° from receiving the sacraments;
3° from administering sacramentals and from celebrating the other ceremonies of liturgical worship;
4° from taking an active part in the celebrations listed above;
5° from exercising any ecclesiastical offices, duties, ministries or functions;
6° from performing acts of governance.

His faculty to celebrate the sacraments and confer sacramentals as a priest of the Diocese of Malolos has been revoked since August 11, 2025. In consideration of the above penalty, the Roman Catholic faithful are prohibited from participating in any liturgical celebration led by Fr. Roger Cruz. All are enjoined to pray for the preservation of communion within the Catholic Faith.

We are tracing the source of this malicious content and will take the necessary steps, including legal action if required. I ask everyone to remain discerning and prayerful in this age when technology can so easily distort the truth.

Please continue to pray for our clergy, our faithful, and for me as your shepherd, that together we may remain steadfast in Christ who is our Way, our Truth, and our Life.
