Nang mag-isandaang taong gulang ang kanyang ina, ibinahagi niya, โ€œNaging halimbawa si Nanay ng katatagan at pananampalataya.โ€ Mag-isa kasi niyang pinalaki ang tatlong anak. Namatayan din siya ng dalawang asawa, dalawang anak, at mga apo. Sumailalim rin siya sa maraming operasyon. Dagdag ni Chuck, โ€œNang mapariwara ang buhay ko noong nasa ๐˜๐˜ฐ๐˜ญ๐˜ญ๐˜บ๐˜ธ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฅ ako, hindi tumigil na magdasal si Nanay para sa akin. Pinasasalamatan ko ang aking ina dahil ginawa niya ang lahat upang mapalapit akong muli sa Dios.โ€

Nakatulong ang mga panalangin ng ina ni Chuck upang tanggapin niya ang kaligtasang mula sa Dios at upang makahanap ng maka-Dios na asawa. Taimtim na nagdasal ang ina ni Chuck para sa kanyang anak, at narinig ng Dios ang kanyang mga panalangin. Hindi natin laging nakakamit sa paraang nais natin ang sagot sa ating mga panalangin. Kaya hindi natin ito maaaring gamitin para lamang makuha ang anumang gusto natin. Gayunpaman, tinitiyak sa atin ni Santiago na โ€œmalaki ang nagagawa ng panalangin ng taong matuwidโ€ (5:16). Tulad ng ina ni Chuck, dapat tayong magpatuloy sa pagdarasal para sa mga may sakit at mga taong nasa panganib (แด›แด€สŸ. 13โ€“15).
