We are delighted announce that the Iokea AOG Church is hosting a fundraising dinner at the APEC HAUS on Saturday 29th November 2025 from 6pm to 10pm.

The purpose of the fundraising dinner is to raise funds to complete phase 2 of the Church Building Project.
The former Australian A.O.G Missionary to Yangoru-Saussia District in East Sepik Province, Pastor Neil Grady had committed his time with the assistance of the local churches in Port Moresby and have successfully completed the phase 1 (Photos are attached for your reference) in September 2025.

Phase 2 will require full completion of the church building including land acquisition, fencing and signage.

This is a very big milestone program for not just Iokea village but Gulf province as a whole. Iokea AOG church is part of the Southern Region Assemblies of God structure and currently overseen by AOG Cornerstone Gateway Church in Port Moresby under the Central and Gulf Provincial Council structure. The church partnership program has been very effective and will enable the Iokea AOG church to achieve its vision of missions and evangelism in Gulf province.

1.0 Vision of the Assemblies of God Church is in Church Planting, Missions, Evangelism & Education in Iokea and Gulf Province.
The AOG PNG through its Southern Regional Office and its Missions and Evangelism Departments during the next decade has a vision to improve and strengthen its church partnership programs within the region for church planting, missions, evangelism and more importantly soul winning.

In doing so the Iokea AOG church also intends to set up an agency school by establishing an early childhood learning centre with the aim of eventually establishing a primary and secondary school in Gulf Province.

In order to do that, the church must first establish a mission station, and the intended location is Iokea village. Furthermore, the church intends to set up a proper and well-established operations in Iokea to effectively carry out its missions and evangelism programs.

2.0 Brief History of AOG Church in Iokea & Gulf Province
The AOG Iokea Church was first established by Ps Anthony Donigi, City Centre Church (Port Moresby) with the support of late Eka and late Yehiura Hriehwazi in 1998. From its establishment Ps Tuari Sariva was the first indigenous pastor after graduating from Bible College.

Since than under the stewardship of Pastor Tuari, a few indigenous Pastors have been trained and are now serving as Pastors in Gulf province and some are also serving in Central Province.
Pastor Tuari has served for more than 25 years and was able to plant more than ten (10) churches.

However, due to few challenges to date, Gulf has not yet been established as a Province of its own under the Assemblies of God church structure. At the moment, Pastor Tony Dalaka through his local church in Port Moresby (AOG Cornerstone Gateway Church) is overseeing both Central and Gulf Provinces through a Council. Pastor Tuari reports directly to Pastor Dalaka and the Council.

3.0 Church Partnership, Spiritual & Socio-Economic Development Plan
Our approach in development is also to collaborate with other AOG agencies, Christian denominations, NGOs, government departments, and development partners to transform lives through joint initiatives.

As part of this vision, we plan to establish an Early Childhood School in Iokea, to be managed by the Iokea AOG Church, fostering educational and social growth for the community.
All in all, this fundraising dinner aims to raise the necessary funds to complete the Iokea AOG Church Building, which will serve as a beacon of hope and unity for Gulf Province.

The project will not only enhance spiritual growth but also drive social cohesion and economic benefits by creating opportunities for community engagement and development initiatives such as the proposed school and other church Government partnership programs that the church can facilitate using its facilities for the primary purpose of improving the lives of its congregation and the people of Iokea and Gulf Province.

We thank you all for your support for the fundraising dinner. The support will go a long way in reaching the unreached and improving the livelihood of our people in Gulf province through a properly established institution.

May God Bless you all richly!!!
