๐ John 21:15โ19
Today's central text happens after Jesusโ resurrection, when He appears to His disciples beside the Sea of Galilee.
The key background is Peterโs denial of Jesus.
Before Jesus was crucified, Peter confidently told Him that he was willing to die for Him. But when Jesus was arrested, Peter denied knowing Jesus three times (John 18:15โ27).
Now, after the resurrection, Jesus meets Peter again. Rather than publicly condemning him, Jesus asks Peter three times, โDo you love Me?โ This mirrors Peterโs three denials and gives him an opportunity to reaffirm his love and commitment.
3 KEY QUESTIONS TO HELP US EVALUATE OUR LOVE FOR GOD:

Because when we truly love God, we will also love what He loves and value what He values.

Following Jesus will not always be easy or convenient. Sometimes, loving Him means choosing obedience even when it costs us our comfort.

Following Jesus has no retirement. It is a lifelong calling.
Today, may we not only say, โLord, I love You,โ but may our lives show it through our obedience, surrender, and faithfulness.
