As we conclude our Mid-Year Prayer and Fasting, Ps. Reggie Santiago reminded us in his message “Thanking Through” to always be grateful to God through these three points:
THANKFUL FOR THE (Pasasalamat Para Sa)
THANKFUL EVEN THOUGH (Pasasalamat Kahit Na)
THANKFUL BECAUSE OF (Pasasalamat Dahil Sa)
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18
Numerous times in our lives, we are THANKFUL FOR THE blessings, miracles, and answered prayers. This was modeled by Moses in Deuteronomy 8:7-18 when he remembered God’s provision. But in Psalm 23:1-5, David showed us how to be THANKFUL EVEN THOUGH there is uncertainty, trials, and difficulties. Even when things aren’t going our way, we can still rejoice in God’s name because of what He is doing in our lives. We can still praise Him for whatever the pain or suffering is producing. Lastly, Apostle Paul modeled being THANKFUL BECAUSE OF. In Philippians 1, Paul explains that while he was in prison, people were preaching the Gospel with different motives. Yet, he still rejoiced and was thankful because of the fact that the Word of God was still being spread.
With these three points, God showed us how to be thankful for the things He gives us, thankful even though things aren’t what we expect, and thankful because of His presence that is with us all throughout our journey.
“God never said that the journey will be easy, but He did say that the arrival will be worthwhile.” — Ps. Reggie Santiago
