With a land area of 17,602 hectares and with 18 barangays, Natividad which is located near the hillsides and slopes of towering Mt. Caraballo on the east to northwest was created by the Philippine Commission on December 25, 1904. The name Natividad was given in honor of the Nativity of our Blessed Virgin Mary. This town formerly a barrio of San Nicolas, Pangasinan was then inhabited by the people
from the neighbouring town of Pangasinan and from the neighbouring provinces like la Union, the Ilocos Provinces and Abra which explains why Iloco is the main dialect of the townspeople. The foundation of the present church was laid in the year 1927 by Rev. Natividad had no resident priest then. Hereinafter are the Diocesan Priests who served the Our Lady’s Nativity Parish Church started in 1927 by Rev. Alfredo Obedoza to the present 2016 by Rev. Christopher Sison in succession every six years. Through the years from her humble beginnings, the Our Lady’s Nativity Parish underwent a process of change from locally available materials to concrete development. New structures and significant improvements were added through the concerted efforts of the parishioners. The old church was replaced by a much bigger and more spacious church with a grandiose sanctuary in 2000 which can accommodate the growing number of Catholics who attend masses and other religious activities. Other than the church, the lawns and grounds had been improved, Parish Hall was erected, Knights of Columbus Multi-purpose Hall was built, Parish Office was improved and a clean and decent comfort rooms were constructed. Each of the parishioners together with the able leadership and shepherding of the parish priests every six years have developed a deeper sense of commitment to love and serve God. Religious organizations and groups have actively engaged in conducting formation seminars for parishioners to become more active in the evangelization of the faithful. At present, concerted efforts and devotion of the laity continue and will not stop to become an avenue of praise and worship where love of God is deepened through the services, a plan of the PPC and PFC is launched this year to improve the present set-up of the sanctuary to become more grandiose and impressive one…
