May 13 — 𝙁𝙀𝘼𝙎𝙏 𝙊𝙁 𝙊𝙐𝙍 𝙇𝘼𝘿𝙔 𝙊𝙁 𝙁𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙈𝘼

Today, the Church joyfully honors Our Lady of Fatima, who appeared to the three shepherd children — Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta — in Fatima, Portugal, in 1917. Through her maternal message, the Blessed Virgin Mary called the world to prayer, repentance, conversion, and peace.

Our Lady reminded humanity to return to God through the Holy Rosary, sacrifice, and trust in His mercy. Her message remains relevant even today, especially in a world wounded by war, division, hatred, and sin. She assures us that no darkness is greater than the light of Christ and that her Immaculate Heart will ultimately triumph.

The Feast of Our Lady of Fatima is not only a remembrance of the Marian apparitions but also an invitation for every faithful soul to deepen devotion to Jesus through Mary. In every Rosary we pray, every sacrifice we offer, and every act of love we do for God and neighbor, we participate in the call of Fatima.

May Our Lady of Fatima intercede for our families, our nation, and the whole world. May she guide us closer to her Son and teach us to live with faith, humility, purity, and perseverance.

“O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy.”

Warmest congratulations to all newly licensed teachers! Your success is not only a reward for your hard work and perseverance, but also a beautiful calling to become instruments of wisdom, compassion, and hope for the next generation.

As you begin this noble vocation, may you always look to Christ, the Divine Teacher, as your greatest example. Jesus taught not only with words, but with love, patience, humility, and truth. May you also become teachers who inspire not only the minds of students, but also their hearts and souls. In every lesson you teach, may you plant seeds of goodness, integrity, faith, and courage.

HAPPY FIRST YEAR PAPAL ELECTION ANNIVERSARY, POPE LEO XIV

One year ago today, on May 8, 2025, the bells of the Church seemed to echo with joy as white smoke rose from the Sistine Chapel and the world heard the words: Habemus Papam.

Do you remember where you were when the announcement came?
Do you remember the anticipation as the name was proclaimed in Latin — Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost?
An American Pope? From Chicago? Could it really be?

And then, from the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica, the newly elected Successor of St. Peter appeared before the world as Pope Leo XIV.

His very first words were not political, complicated, or grandiose. They were the words of the Risen Christ Himself:

“Peace be with all of you.”

In that moment, the Church received not only a new Pope, but also a shepherd whose first desire was to bring the peace of Christ into wounded hearts, divided families, troubled nations, and a fractured world.

Now, as Pope Leo XIV celebrates the first anniversary of his election as the 267th Pope of the Catholic Church, Catholics around the world look back with gratitude on a year marked by calls for unity, communion, justice, and peace. His episcopal motto, “In the one Christ, we are one,” has become the heart of his pontificate — a reminder that the Church cannot truly evangelize if she is divided within herself.

His choice of the name “Leo” was also deeply meaningful. Like Pope Leo XIII, who courageously addressed the struggles brought by the Industrial Revolution through Rerum Novarum, Pope Leo XIV has spoken about the modern challenges facing humanity — especially artificial intelligence, human dignity, labor, and social justice. He reminds the world that technological progress must never come at the expense of the human person.

One year later, many still remember the emotion of that evening: the white smoke, the ringing bells, the crowded square, and the simple yet powerful blessing of peace from the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica.

As Catholics, may we continue to pray for Pope Leo XIV — that the Holy Spirit may strengthen him in guiding the Church with wisdom, courage, humility, and charity.

May Christ preserve His Vicar and grant peace to His Church and to the whole world.
