LOOK: Caleruega Staff Undergoes First Aid and Basic Life Support Training

Continuing its commitment to preparedness and safety, the Caleruega staff participated in a three-day Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) Training conducted by the Nasugbu Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) on August 3–5, 2026.

Building on the similar training they underwent last year, the staff once again refreshed and strengthened their knowledge and skills in first aid and basic life support, enhancing their readiness to respond effectively in times of emergency.

These continuing efforts help ensure the safety and well-being of our retreatants, clients, and pilgrims, while fostering a safe, welcoming, and caring environment for everyone at Caleruega.

We are one with the entire Dominican Family in celebrating today the feast day of our Father, Dominic de Guzman! Our retreat center was named Caleruega after his birthplace in Spain.

St. Dominic de Guzman, a 12th-century saint, dedicated himself to preaching and the salvation of souls. He founded the Order of Preachers, which today has grown into a family of friars, nuns, sisters, and lay and priestly fraternities.

| Dominican friars and staff gathered at the Transfiguration Chapel on August 6, 2026, to celebrate the anniversary of the Caleruega Retreat Center with a Holy Mass. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr. Jude Roquero, O.P., with Fr. Francis Borre, O.P., as preacher, and concelebrated by the priests of St. Mary Magdalene Dominican House.

Following the Mass, Caleruega honored this year's service awardees in recognition of their years of dedicated work. Fr. Giuseppe Arsciwals, O.P., Acting Director, expressed his gratitude to the employees for their invaluable contributions to the mission of the retreat house over the years.
