๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ถ๐ ๐ซ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐ฟ in ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฎ, ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฌ, was canonically established in 1852. From its early beginnings, the parish became a center of faith and community life, entrusted under the patronage of St. Francis Xavier, the great missionary who brought the Gospel to distant lands. Inspired by his zeal and missionary spirit, generations of Nasugbueรฑos have nurtured a strong devotion to their patron, seeing in him a model of unwavering faith, sacrifice, and service to others. This enduring devotion continues to shape the spiritual identity of the people of Nasugbu, as the parish remains a living testament to their steadfast commitment to the Catholic faith and their deep-rooted love for St. Francis Xavier.
The seal is enclosed within a circle, representing eternity and unity. This signifies that the mission of the Parish of St. Francis Xavier is an ongoing journey of faith and service. The circle calls the parishioners to grow in holiness, bear fruit in their ministries, and remain united under the loving gaze of St. Francis Xavier. The parish seal is a profound representation of its identity and mission.
Dominating the upper portion of the seal is a bold red background, symbolizing the martyrdom of St. Sebastian,
the patron saint of the Archdiocese of Lipa. The color red reflects the blood of martyrs โ a powerful reminder of the call to stand firm in faith, even in the face of trials and persecution.
Within the red field are two black arrows that
highlight St. Sebastian's suffering. These arrows serve as a symbol of courage and resilience, urging the parish community to embrace
their faith steadfastly as they journey through lifeโs challenges.
Flanking the arrows are white lilies, a tribute to St.
Joseph, the principal patron of the Archdiocese of Lipa. The lilies
signify purity, humility, and righteousness โ virtues that St. Joseph
embodied as the protector of the Holy Family. Just as St. Joseph
lovingly watched over Jesus and Mary, the parish community is
called to mirror this spirit of service and protection, especially for the most vulnerable members of society.
๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐ ๐ถ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฆ๐ต๐ถ๐ฝ: The ship represents St. Francis Xavierโs
great missionary journeys across seas and continents. It signifies
his zeal in spreading the Gospel beyond borders, embodying the
parishโs call to be a missionary church that reaches out to others.
The large wooden cross is a direct symbol of the
Christian faith carried by St. Francis Xavier. It emphasizes the
missionaryโs courage to proclaim Christ crucified and risen, even
in distant lands.
The shell is a baptismal symbol
connected to St. Francis Xavierโs countless baptisms during his
mission. The drops of water represent the life of grace flowing
from the sacrament, showing how he brought people into the
Church through baptism.
At the center of the
Cross is the Eucharist, with the monogram JHS (Iesus Hominum
Salvator โ โJesus, Savior of Humanityโ). This highlights that the
heart of every mission and the source of the Churchโs life is the
Holy Eucharist. It recalls St. Francis Xavierโs deep love for the Blessed Sacrament and reminds the parish community that Christ
in the Eucharist is the center of their faith.
The ladder is the central symbol of Our Lady of
Escalera (Our Lady of the Stairway). It signifies Mary as the โladder to heaven,โ guiding souls toward eternal life. Each step represents a virtue that leads the faithful closer to God through her intercession.
The star symbolizes Mary as โStella Marisโ (Star of the
Sea), who lights the path of travelers, seafarers, and all who are
lost in the storms of life. Just as sailors are guided by the stars,
Christians are guided by Mary toward Christ.
๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐๐ต๐ผ๐๐๐ฒ: The lighthouse illustrates Maryโs role as a
beacon of hope and safety. Like a light that warns and guides
ships at sea, Mary illuminates the faithful, leading them safely
through the dangers of sin toward the harbor of salvation.
The waters reflect the coastal town of Nasugbu, known
for its strong connection to the sea. It also represents the
missionary journeys of St. Francis Xavier, who traveled by ship to
reach distant lands.
The mountain signifies the landscape of
Nasugbu, with its prominent hills and ranges. Spiritually, it recalls
the Blessed Virgin of Escalera, who is like a mountain of strength
and protection, lifting the faithful upward to heaven.
Marks the founding year of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Nasugbu, Batangas. It signifies the beginning of the parishโs mission of spreading the Catholic faith, administering the sacraments, and guiding the faithful in the spirit of St. Francis Xavier, a great missionary of the Church. This year reflects the parishโs deep historical roots and enduring commitment to evangelization and service to God and His people.
