The Bible says that before the foundation of the world, God had chosen us for adoption but the actual act of adoption took place when one believe in Christ as his God, Lord and personal Savior. The believers become a child of God through the new birth or born-again experience by resting his faith in Christ.

Upon adoption into heavenly family, we are "𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫", the Bible refers him as the Devil or Satan, who was once our father as he is the father of lies and liars. Who for years deceived and blinded us from knowing the truth. But be assured that the moment we become Christians, we are in the kingdom of God, no longer in the kingdom of darkness. In becoming a member of God's family, the Holy Spirit enlightened us with the truth of God's Word to discern the deception & lies of the devil.

Adoption into God's family is immediate after conversion but the teaching and guiding ministry of the Holy Spirit will continue on in the 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐕𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐍 𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐓, by reminding us to resist the devil. And by applying God's truth in our lives it will set us free from our former lifestyle once controlled by the enemy.
