Faith without Works
“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” James 2:26

Some believe Paul and James disagree about salvation—Paul teaches we are saved by faith alone (Ephesians 2:8–9), while James emphasizes that faith without works is dead (James 2:18).

However, there is no contradiction. Paul speaks about the cause of salvation: we are saved by God’s grace through faith, not by human effort.

James speaks about the evidence of salvation: genuine faith produces good works that others can see.

Works do not save us, but they show that our faith is real.

These truths lead to important questions: Am I truly saved? Can others see Christ in me through my actions? What should change in my life so that my faith is visible?
