THIS MAY, GROW YIUR DEVOTION TO THE BLESSED MOTHER
This May, we are invited once again to deepen our devotion to the Blessed Mother, the Virgin Mary, as the Church dedicates this entire month to honoring her life, virtues, and maternal intercession. More than just a tradition, May becomes a spiritual journeyโa time to draw closer to the one who always leads us nearer to Christ.
Mary is not only the Mother of Jesus, but also the spiritual mother of all believers. Her life reflects perfect obedience, humility, and trust in Godโs will. When she said โyesโ to the angel Gabriel at the Annunciation, she opened the door to salvation history. That simple yet profound โfiatโ reminds us that holiness often begins in quiet surrender and faithful acceptance of Godโs plan, even when it is not fully understood.
In a world filled with uncertainty, distractions, and pain, Mary stands as a model of steadfast faith. She remained faithful even at the foot of the Cross, enduring sorrow with a heart fully united to God. Because of this, many turn to her in times of struggle, asking for comfort, guidance, and strength. Her motherhood is not distant or symbolicโit is personal, tender, and ever-present.
The month of May also invites the faithful to pray the Holy Rosary more fervently. Through its mysteries, we meditate on the life of Christ seen through Maryโs eyes. Each bead becomes a step closer to deeper reflection, peace, and spiritual renewal. It is a prayer that has sustained generations of Catholics across centuries.
Devotion to Mary, however, is never an end in itself. It always leads us to Jesus. She constantly points us to her Son, saying in spirit the same words she spoke at Cana: โDo whatever He tells you.โ In honoring her, we grow in discipleship and learn how to live more faithfully as followers of Christ.
As we journey through this Marian month, may we find time to pray, reflect, and entrust our lives to her care. In our joys and struggles, may we remember that we are never aloneโour Blessed Mother walks with us, interceding and guiding us gently toward her Son, Jesus Christ.
