Rachel's life was not without its challenges, including infertility and conflicts with her sister Leah. Despite these difficulties, Rachel remained faithful to God. Rebecca

“To tie” · Hebrew

Rebecca is the wife of Isaac and the mother of Jacob and Esau. She is known for her beauty, her hospitality, and her role in carrying on the promise of God's covenant with Abraham. Rebecca is also known for her cunning and strategic thinking, as seen in her involvement in securing Isaac's blessing for Jacob instead of Esau. Despite facing challenges, including infertility and family conflict, Rebecca remained steadfast in her faith and played an important role in the history of the Jewish people.

Sarah is a prominent figure in the Bible, particularly in the book of Genesis. She was the wife of Abraham, who is considered the father of many nations, and the mother of Isaac, who was the promised son of God to Abraham. Sarah is known for her beauty, her faith in God, and her role in the fulfillment of God's promise to Abraham. Despite facing many challenges, including infertility and exile, Sarah remained faithful to God and played a key role in the history of the Jewish people.

Jacob

“Supplanter” · Hebrew

Jacob was the son of Isaac and Rebekah, and he was the twin brother of Esau. Jacob is known for his cunning and resourcefulness, as demonstrated in the story where he deceived his father Isaac to receive his blessing intended for Esau. Jacob's name reflects his character as a supplanter, as he took advantage of his brother's hunger and sold him his birthright for a bowl of stew.

Jacob's story in the Bible is one of transformation and redemption. After fleeing from his brother's anger, he had a vision of a ladder reaching up to heaven with angels ascending and descending. This vision led him to vow to serve God, and he spent the rest of his life striving to live up to this promise.

Jacob went on to become the father of twelve sons, who became the founders of the twelve tribes of Israel.

Isaac

“Laughter” · Hebrew

Isaac was the son of Abraham and Sarah, and he was born to them in their old age after they had given up hope of having a child. He was known for his obedience to God, as demonstrated in the story of the binding of Isaac, where Abraham was commanded by God to sacrifice his son Isaac as a test of his faith. He also played a significant role in the story of Jacob and Esau. Isaac was a man of great faith, skilled in farming and herding, and he lived a long and prosperous life.
