The Archdiocese of Caceres, together with the Holy Rosary Major Seminary community, warmly invites the clergy, religious, seminarians, alumni, benefactors, and lay faithful to the Eucharistic Celebration in thanksgiving for the 25th Presbyteral Anniversary (Sacerdotal Silver Jubilee) of Very Rev. Fr. William J. Santiago.

​The Holy Mass will be presided over by His Excellency, Most Rev. Rex Andrew Clement Alarcon, D.D., Archbishop of Caceres, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Peñafrancia. The homily will be delivered by His Excellency, Most Rev. Jean Clément Marie Gérard Joseph François Georges Laffitte, D.D., Prelate Emeritus of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and Secretary Emeritus of the Dicastery for the Laity, the Family and Life.

​This silver jubilee marks a significant milestone in Fr. William's priestly journey as he gives thanks for twenty-five years of devoted service to Christ and His Church. Through the years, his ministry has been a steadfast witness to God's enduring grace, mercy, and pastoral care.

​United in prayer, let us ask the Lord to continue blessing Fr. William with wisdom, strength, humility, and pastoral charity. May Christ, the Eternal High Priest, renew his zeal, and may the Blessed Virgin Mary, Seat of Wisdom, continue to guide and protect him in the years ahead.

As you begin this new chapter of your priestly ministry, may Christ, the Good Shepherd, continue to guide and strengthen you as you form future priests after His own Heart. May the Holy Spirit bless you with wisdom, zeal, good health, humility, and pastoral charity as you accompany seminarians in their journey of discernment and preparation for the priesthood.

FEAST OF SAINTS JOACHIM AND ANNE
6th World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly
July 26, 2026

Today, the Church joyfully celebrates the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, the beloved grandparents of Jesus and the patron saints of grandparents. Their lives remind us that the family is the first school of faith, where love for God is handed on from one generation to the next through witness, prayer, and enduring hope.

This celebration also marks the 6th World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly, with the inspiring theme: “I will never forget you” (Isaiah 49:15). These words reveal God's unfailing love and fidelity—a love that the elderly so often mirror through their quiet sacrifices, steadfast faith, and lifelong commitment to their families.

As Pope Francis has often reminded us, a people that does not care for its grandparents has no future, because it loses its memory. In honoring our grandparents and the elderly, we preserve our roots, strengthen the bonds between generations, and build a culture of encounter, gratitude, and hope.

As Family Ministry, we renew our commitment to accompany, honor, and care for our grandparents and elderly members. Let us ensure that they are never forgotten, never abandoned, but always welcomed, loved, and valued within our families, our parishes, and our communities. Together, let us build homes where every generation has a place and where faith is joyfully passed on from heart to heart.

On this special day, let us:
🤍 Thank our grandparents and elderly for their witness of faith and love.
🙏 Visit, accompany, and pray with those who may be lonely or forgotten.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Foster stronger bonds between generations, recognizing that every family grows richer when young and old journey together.

Through the intercession of Saints Joachim and Anne, may all grandparents and the elderly be blessed with good health, peace, joy, and the loving presence of their families. May they continue to inspire us by their unwavering faith and become living signs of God's promise:
