In a world thirsty for meaning, five sisters choose a life of total love for Christ and the poorest of the poor today.

This morning at the Immaculate Conception Church in Concepcion Pequeña, Naga City, the Missionaries of Charity celebrated the First Profession of Sr. Ann Hesed (Timor-Leste), Sr. Bandona Joy (Bangladesh), Sr. Clouderia (Papua New Guinea), Sr. Rida Maria (Timor-Leste), and Sr. Sofie Joseph (Australia), who offered their lives completely to Christ and to the service of the poorest of the poor.

Presided over by Most Rex Andrew C. Alarcon, the Eucharistic celebration became a moving witness that vocations continue to flourish in a world thirsty for hope, meaning, and love.

IN PHOTOS: Yesterday, the venerated images of Our Lady of Peñafrancia and Divino Rostro gracefully journeyed through the Naga River in a solemn fluvial procession, marking the culmination of the novenary visitation of Inâ at the Naga City People's Mall and the homecoming of the two venerated images to the Our Lady of Peñafrancia Minor Basilica and National Shrine.

The pagoda, filled with female devotees and pilgrims, became a moving witness of faith and steadfast love, as hymns, prayers, and shouts of 'Viva la Virgen!' echoed across the waters. Upon the arrival of the images at the Basilica, the faithful gathered in thanksgiving for the Holy Mass commemorating the forty-fourth anniversary of the dedication of the Church of the Basilica. The Eucharistic Celebration was solemnly presided over by the Archbishop of Cáceres, Most Rev. Rex Andrew C. Alarcon, uniting the Bikolnon devotees in gratitude for God’s enduring blessings through the loving intercession of Inâ.
