Set against the backdrop of Nabuaโ€™s rich history, the presentation depicts the spiritual evolution of the town and the neighboring baranggay. It explores the transition from ancient pagan rituals to the arrival of the Franciscan missionaries.

The highlight is the transformation of the town's name coming from its rich productโ€”the coconut embryo, "bowa" once used in pagan offerings and celebration into the origin of the town's name depicting the background of Bowa-Bowaan Festival. This modern celebration serves as a "baptized" ritual of thanksgiving and devotion. By focusing on the Nabueรฑo youth, the performance showcases the people as the bridge between the past and the future, carrying the torch of faith and cultural identity from their ancestors into eternity.

Tomorrow marks the beginning of Passiontide, the final two weeks of Lent where the Churchโ€™s focus shifts from our personal penance to the specific suffering and Sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Passiontide begins on the 5th Sunday of Lent. We might notice a striking change in many churches today: crosses and statues are veiled in purple cloth. This tradition dates back centuries and symbolizes the "hiddenness" of Christโ€™s divinity as He entered His final days. It creates a sense of mourning and heightened anticipation, we "lose" the sight of our Savior's glory so we can more deeply feel the weight of His love on Good Friday.

In the traditional liturgy, we look to the Gospel of John 8:58-59:
Just as Jesus "hid himself" from those who sought to stone Him, the veiled images in our churches remind us that His hour had not yet fully come, but the Cross is now in view

Letโ€™s use these next two weeks to walk more closely with Him.
