In these modern times, obtaining wisdom seems not to be so desirable as achieving happiness. People would rather be happy than wise. However, can we truly be happy and live a fulfilled life without godly wisdom? The Psalms clearly say that we cannot. The good news is that we are not asked to choose between wisdom and happiness. Godly wisdom brings genuine happiness.

When we are saved, God adopts us and gives us a new identity. Our old life is washed away and a new life begins. This new life defined, not by the legacy of the old life (addictions, sins, reputation, etc.) but by the legacy of Jesus (victorious, selfless, free).

In Jesus, our sins are forgiven and we are declared holy. God heals our hearts so that we come to love what He loves and hate what He hates. This journey is one that will take the rest of our lives. We will never be flawless in this world, but we have the promise that God will never turn His back on us.
As we daily walk with Jesus, God transforms us into His other-centered agape-love image (the opposite of our self-centered nature). We go from being selfish beings to living life for God and others in harmony with God's heart. In short, believers do not manifest a good life in order to be saved. Believers do so because they are saved. We are God's poem, His work of art.
