Topic: “Anchor of the Faith.”
Anchor of the Faith
Text: Hebrews 6:19 — “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure…”
Introduction
Life often feels like a storm. Circumstances shift, people disappoint, and uncertainty surrounds us. In times like these, the question isn’t whether storms will come—but whether we are anchored.
An anchor doesn’t stop the storm. It keeps the ship steady in the middle of it.
1. The Reality of Life’s Storms
Even faithful people face trials.
Think of Job—a righteous man who still endured immense suffering. Or the disciples in the boat during the storm with Jesus.
Faith doesn’t remove trouble; it gives stability in trouble.
2. The Anchor Is Hope in Christ
The verse tells us our anchor is hope—but not wishful thinking. It is confident trust in God’s promises.
This hope is anchored in Jesus Christ:
His finished work on the cross
His resurrection
His unchanging nature
Unlike worldly anchors (money, status, people), Christ never fails.
3. Anchored Beyond the Storm
Hebrews says this hope “enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.” This means our anchor is not tied to this world—it is secured in heaven.
When everything on earth shifts, your anchor still holds because it is fixed in eternity.
4. What Happens When You’re Anchored
You don’t drift spiritually
You remain steady in trials
You grow in trust, not fear
Consider Peter the Apostle walking on water. The moment he focused on the storm, he began to sink. But when his eyes were on Jesus, he stood firm.
5. How to Stay Anchored
Stay in God’s Word daily
Pray consistently
Surround yourself with strong believers
Hold onto God’s promises, not your feelings
Anchoring isn’t automatic—you must choose it.
Conclusion
Storms will come. Winds will rise. But if your soul is anchored in Christ, you will not be destroyed.
So the real question is:
What are you anchored to today?
Closing Thought
An anchor only works if it’s set deep.
Don’t place your faith in shallow things—anchor it in the unshakable hope found in Jesus.

Text: Psalm 37:7
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

Topic: Patiently waiting for the Lord's Coming
Matyagang naghihintay
Sa pagbabalik ng
Panginoon.

Introduction:
There are Characters in the bible, waiting for the Lord's coming
1. King David
-> Psalm 27:14
Wait on the Lord : be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
Magsalig kamo sa Ginoo!
Magpakalig-on kamo kag indi madulaan sang paglaom.
Magsalig lang kamo sa Ginoo!
2. Disciples of the Lord
-> Acts 1:10-11
10. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11. Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

3. Simeon & Hanna
-> Luke 2:28-31
28. Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
29. Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
30. For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
31. Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

I. Our attitude while
patiently waiting for the
Lord's coming.
Ang ating ugali habang
matyagang naghihintay sa
pagbabalik ng Panginoon
A. Must have the attitude
of enduring hardship of
life.
May ugaling tinitiis ang
Kahirapan ng buhay.
-> 2 Timothy 2:3
Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
2. Why Can We Endure? Our Hope As Believers
✅ Hardship is temporary, but our reward is eternal
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 says: “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
✅ God is with you in every storm
God never promised we would not face problems. But He promised: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you” (Isaiah 43:2).
✅ God uses hardship for your good
Romans 8:28 assures us: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

B. Our eyes is set only
upon Jesus.
Ang ating mga mata ay
Nakatuon lang kay Hesus
-> Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
2. Feed your spirit with God’s Word and prayer
Psalm 119:50 says: “My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.” When you feel weak, hold on to His promises, and talk to God like a friend — pour out all your sadness, fear, and hurt to Him. He understands.
3. Remember God’s faithfulness
Look back at your life. Remember how God brought you through hard times before? He is the same God yesterday, today, and forever. If He helped you then, He will help you now.
4. Do not give up — your breakthrough is near
Galatians 6:9 says: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Do not quit just before your miracle comes. Endure a little longer.

C. Walk uprightly in the
Lord.
Lumakad ng matuwid
Psalm 15:1-2: “Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from

1. Let God’s Word be your guide
2. Keep a close relationship with God
