Everlasting and never ending, God’s love presents in multiple ways — through the blessings He gives us, the trials He lets us face, and most importantly, through His sacrifice on the cross. 💝

This month, we’re blessed to hear from Joaquin Abella from Camp Everglow, who shares his reflection on God’s unconditional love for us.

“Knowing that God sacrificed His only Son to save all of us from sin, I can’t help but feel grateful and long to help my fellow brothers and sisters in their journeys of faith. Knowing that I didn’t even do anything to deserve such love and forgiveness reminds me how truly good and loving God is.

No matter what we do or what happens, God will always love and forgive us and we shouldn’t take that for granted.

This truth, alongside all the blessings and triumphs the Lord has given me, reminds me to be forever grateful for His sacrifice and motivates me to give back and fulfill His mission by leading others closer to Christ. As this shows how strong and constant God’s love is for us, it serves as an inspiration for me to show unconditional love to others and treat and see everyone in the image and likeness of God.

As I continue to come back to and serve this family, my faith and trust in God’s plan continues to grow and strengthen; having the honor of seeing my fellow brothers and sisters grow in the spirit of Christ brings everlasting joy and fulfillment .

YFC really is a community that not only brings people together, but collectively brings each other closer to Christ.”

May we always hold on to the truth of God’s unwavering love, knowing that nothing can separate us from it. Let His love be our strength and our guide in all that we do. 🤝

God’s purpose for us is always good. As we take on the new year, let’s remember that to surrender our plans to Him, as He leads us in His perfect way. 🛣️

This month, we’re blessed to hear from Luis Caguiat from Camp Exodus, who shares his reflection on trusting God in every step.

“Before my knee surgery just last weekend January 25, I kind of struggled with trusting God with my health. My recurring knee injury was frustrating, but I often found myself trying to push through the pain, believing I can handle it on my own thinking I can do most of my things and sports without surgery. Instead of fully surrendering my situation to God, I held onto the fear of the unknown, questioning why this challenge kept happening.

My surgery at the start of the year reminded me that God’s plans often look different from what we expect, but they always have a purpose. This year, I align it with him by trusting his timing and being open to redirections. My recovery will take patience and instead of rushing into things, I choose to rely on God’s wisdom for when and how to move forward. With this, I will embrace changes with faith, knowing God is shaping my path for a reason.

Looking back, I can see how God has been working through my injury. What once felt like a setback has become a lesson in patience, trust, and surrender. This experience isn’t just about physical healing but also about spiritual growth. I now realize that while I may not always understand His ways, God is always leading me toward something better.”

How will you let God lead you in the months ahead? May we move forward confidently in the future He has prepared for us. 👣

God brings us hope, lighting our path as we enter the New Year. 🌠

To end the year, we’re blessed to hear from Mohan Tong from Camp Exodus, who shares her reflection on God’s hope.

When we say that Jesus is the “light of the world,” it means He’s our source of truth, hope, and guidance. Just like how helpful physical light is, allowing us to see where we’re going and making it easier to navigate things, Jesus’ life and teachings show us the right path and keep us from wandering into that darkness. He gives us clarity and direction in a world that can often feel really confusing and overwhelming. This light also shines within us, helping us figure out our value in everything.

But just as darkness can hide our physical surroundings, it can also affect our understanding of ourselves. I’ve personally experienced these moments where I felt completely lost and confused. I struggled to understand what my purpose was, where I belonged, and where I was headed in life. I also felt lost in terms of who to trust or who to turn to for help. But through it all, I came to realize that it was our Lord whom I was truly searching for. Following Jesus has been a real lifeline during those times. His teachings have given me a new way of looking at things and a clearer sense of direction. Just knowing that I’m not alone in these struggles and that there’s a bigger picture, a larger purpose, has brought me peace and comfort in this world.

And because of this light I’ve found, I believe that others deserve to find it as well. I can illuminate the path for others by reflecting on God’s love and compassion in our daily lives. Simple acts of kindness, like offering support and showing genuine care, can powerfully show others the light of Christ. I also decided to share my story on how faith has helped me through difficult times because I want to offer hope and encouragement to others just to remind them that there is always gonna be that light at the end of the tunnel. Thus, I share the light through both my actions and my words, reflecting His love for the world.

How are you experiencing God’s light? Let us walk into the New Year letting Him guide us forward. 🤍

⌛ THROWBACK TO MY CAMP ⌛

Beli Albotra - YFC-Zobel

A Throwback to Camp Voyage by Beli Albotra

I remember the reason why I was inspired to join YFC. It was because of a member who was also my teammate at that time who showed me God’s love in telling me “it’s okay” after I had created the gravest mistake in a performance. As I applied for camp voyage, I wondered if everybody in the organization was like her—forgiving and fun! And when I tell you they did not disappoint, they did not disappoint. It was only the first day and I could already tell that this was really a place where the love lasts forever. The people were happy, welcoming, and loving. They were serious about God. I was lucky to have found them because in the end, they led me to my surrender. After YFC Camp, my perspective on who He is became clearer to me. It didn’t make a difference that some parts of the camp were online. In fact, it was at the online portion where the truth of His love and His sacrifice hit the hardest through what they were teaching. That aside, camp was not always so serious—we had our fair share of laughs, we can never forget the 3rd F! But overall, YFC taught me that He is real, He is good and that no matter where you go or where you end up, He’ll always be ready to welcome you home and forgive. While it may already seem like a given with the countless times we hear it at Church, it’s different when you actually start acting like He’s real. With that, I had been living with Him by my side every single day all thanks to YFC. :)

His goodness is constant and perfect. As we reflect on His many gifts, let’s remember to keep our hearts filled with gratitude. 💫

This month, we’re blessed to hear from Indigo Tolentino from Camp Exodus, who shares his reflection on God’s faithfulness.

——

Good and perfect gifts are all around but seem rare when in reality they are always being given to us. God has given me many gifts in my life, loving parents, good friends, a roof to live under, a life to live, and most especially… His very own love and presence in my life. God is always giving us many gifts but it is up to us to be willing to receive them. The best way to show our gratitude to God is to accept his gifts and cherish them. We as children of God must continue sharing these gifts with anyone and seeing the true Jesus in others as the best way of showing how thankful we are for His gifts.

It is important to remember that God’s influence is eternal and ever present in every situation. I do my best effort to not just thank God for the good things in my life but to seek him out in every part of my life, especially the most challenging parts. God was never meant to be there for one part of our life… He stays by your side forever. As someone who trusts in God’s process, I look for him in every situation as a shield of guidance, a fountain of support, or a blessing through prayer. It’s become essential for me to seek Him out in good times and bad, because when God is there, no time will truly ever be bad.

I feel personally I need to trust in God a lot more, but especially in times where uncertainties of what could happen or challenging situations occur. Sometimes, it can come as second nature to blame God or lose faith in him when bad things happen to you and when you don’t feel his guidance in your life. I am surely a victim of this problem, but I should work on improving my true “undoubting faith” in Him and his ways. The more uncertain I feel or the more challenged I get, all the more reason to trust in God’s plan and leave my destiny in His hands.

——

What are you thankful for this month? Let us all reflect and keep our hearts centered on God’s goodness and faithfulness. 💌

🕺 HUMANS OF YFC 🕺
Ela San Pedro - YFC-Zobel
Marielle Arellano - YFC-Sector

Why did you choose to join YFC?

✦ Ela: I chose to join YFC because I knew that by joining YFC, it would not only help me build my relationship with God, but also with other people. I’ve also always wanted to become a better person and learn more on how to have a stronger faith in God and I knew that YFC would be the perfect way to do so.

❊ Marielle: I joined YFC not only because my whole family was already in the community, but because I felt that I needed some sort of support or fellowship socially and spiritually at the time (I was only 12 years old)

How did YFC affect your relationship with God?

✦ Ela: YFC has a very special place in my heart because YFC taught me that God will always be there for me no matter what happens. He will be there throughout my hardships, my best moments, and even in times that I don’t realize it. YFC also taught me how to get closer to God and reminded me that God is just one prayer away whenever I need Him.

❊ Marielle: YFC provides me with the pastoral guidance, spiritual formation, and familial community I need to understand more and strengthen my personal faith in God.

Did YFC help you in making connections with others?

✦ Ela: YFC brought me some of the best people I
know into in my life, and helped me get closer to them. I was able to learn more about my peers and find new things to love about them. I knew that love exists because YFC is full of it. YFC is a family that I will love forever and ever.

❊ Marielle: In YFC, I am able to meet and connect with so many different people from different walks of life. I found lifelong friends, mentor ate’s and kuya’s, and spiritual parents that are continually my source of strength in the community.
