Amen. See You!

There are days when I feel completely overwhelmed, stressed, frustrated, unmotivated, and so very tired. Lately, it feels like I’ve been walking through the darkest season of my life, where the weight of everything seems too heavy to carry.

Honestly, I didn’t even feel like opening my Bible. But deep inside, there was something urging me, pushing me, to still do my daily devotion. And when I finally obeyed that gentle nudge, God met me.

My devotion brought me to the story of Paul and Silas in prison. They were beaten, chained, and surrounded by darkness. But in that place of pain and hopelessness, they chose to sing, to pray, and to worship God.

As I read, tears flowed. Because I realized, I am not in a physical prison. I am free. And yet, I allowed my struggles to silence my song, my prayers, and my worship. I let the heaviness of life bind me in ways chains never could.

But God, in His mercy, reminded me: I am blessed. Even in my darkest moments, He gives me the strength to lift my voice again. Even when I feel alone, He is right beside me. And even when my heart forgets, His grace never fails to remind me, joy in Him can never be taken away.

This is my testimony: God’s grace carries me when I am weak, His presence comforts me when I am weary, and His love gives me reason to rejoice again. Truly, He has never left me.

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” – Philippians 4:4

"About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.” – Acts 16:25

Excuses are the greatest enemies of service. They sound reasonable, they feel valid, but in the end they only hold us back from what God has called us to do. Many of us say, "Lord, I want to serve You,” yet when the opportunity comes, we answer with, “I’m busy,” “I’m tired,” “I don’t know how,” or “Maybe next time.”

But here’s the truth: service is never about convenience it’s about willingness. If you wait until everything is perfect, you’ll never start. The Bible shows us that God doesn’t always choose the strongest, the smartest, or the most available; He chooses the willing. Moses had excuses, Gideon doubted, Jeremiah said he was too young—yet God still used them mightily when they laid down their excuses and obeyed.

Every excuse we make is also a missed opportunity: an opportunity to bless someone, to grow deeper in faith, and to glorify God. Sometimes the very thing we are putting off is the answer to someone else’s prayer.

So, ask yourself: What’s stopping me? Am I letting excuses take the place of obedience?

God isn’t asking for perfection; He’s asking for your “yes.”

Serve where you are, with what you have, and with a willing heart. Excuses fade, but the impact of obedience lasts forever.

😱 WHY DON’T CATHOLICS CALL CHAPTER AND VERSES WHILE READING THE BIBLE AT MASS?✝️
_______________
A young man once asked me:
👉 “Why is it that Catholics don’t mention the chapters and verses when reading the Bible at Mass?

My pastor told us it’s because Catholics don’t want people to know the Bible or the truth.”

I smiled at him and replied:
“If you already believe your pastor’s answer, why ask me?”

He paused, then said: “Because I’m not convinced.”

So I gave him the real answer.

1️⃣ READING VS. PROCLAIMING

Catholics don’t just read the Bible at Mass.
We proclaim it.

📖 To “read” is to look at text and understand.
✝️ To “proclaim” is to announce a message with authority.

At Mass, the Word of God is not private study, it is a public proclamation of God’s voice to His people.

That’s why the lector ends with:
👉 “The Word of the Lord.”
And the deacon or priest ends with:
👉 “The Gospel of the Lord.”

It is not our word. It is God speaking now.

2️⃣ THE LITURGY IS NOT A BIBLE STUDY

Many don’t realize: Catholics already know the readings before Mass.

Every Catholic who owns a Missal or Liturgical Calendar knows:
👉 The readings of today.
👉 The readings of tomorrow.
👉 Even the readings of March 17, 2026, years ahead!

Why? Because the Church has a 3-year cycle of Scripture readings, carefully designed so that across Sundays, weekdays, and feasts, the entire story of salvation unfolds.

So Mass is not the first time Catholics hear the readings. They are meant to be read at home before Mass, so that during Mass we don’t “study” them, but hear God speak through them.

3️⃣ WHY WE DON’T ANNOUNCE CHAPTER AND VERSE

If the lector says: “First Reading: Isaiah chapter 55, verses 1–3,” what happens?

📌 People grab their Bibles, flip pages, and start “reading along.”
But in that moment, the Mass shifts from proclamation to study.

And the Church is clear: Mass is not a classroom. It is worship.

At Mass, we don’t “search the text.”
We listen to the voice of the Spirit speaking through the proclamation.

That’s why chapter and verse are intentionally omitted, not to hide the Bible, but to lift the Bible above private reading into communal proclamation.

4️⃣ THE CHURCH’S WISDOM

Think about it: In the early Church there were no chapter and verse numbers.

Those were added in the 13th and 16th centuries—for study and reference.

The Mass preserves the ancient way of hearing Scripture:
👉 Not distracted by numbers.
👉 Not reduced to proof-texts.
👉 But heard as a living word addressed to the people of God.

That’s why after the reading, the people respond:
🙌 “Thanks be to God.”
Because they have heard God Himself speaking.

5️⃣ THE FINAL WORD

So the next time someone says:
👉 “Catholics don’t announce chapter and verse because they don’t want people to know the Bible…”

You can answer with confidence:
- Catholics don’t just read, we proclaim.
- The readings are already known in advance.
- Mass is not a classroom, it is worship.
- Scripture is not hidden, it is made living and present.

At Mass, God’s Word is not a dead text, it is a voice from heaven, proclaimed in the assembly, received in faith, and sealed in the Eucharist.

🙏 So when you hear “The Word of the Lord”… don’t rush to check numbers.
Bow your heart and answer: “Thanks be to God.”

God bless you 🙏

HOW DOES INTERCESSORY PRAYER WORKS?

Based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC):
2634 Intercession is a prayer of petition which leads us to pray as Jesus did. He is the one intercessor with the Father on behalf of all men, especially sinners.112 He is "able for all time to save those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them."113 The Holy Spirit "himself intercedes for us . . . and intercedes for the saints according to the will of God."114

2635 Since Abraham, intercession - asking on behalf of another has been characteristic of a heart attuned to God's mercy. In the age of the Church, Christian intercession participates in Christ's, as an expression of the communion of saints. In intercession, he who prays looks "not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others," even to the point of praying for those who do him harm.115

Below are some of the questions/statements of people from other sect against intercessory prayers, and their corresponding answers from the Catholic Answers (Praying to the Saints):

1) CAN THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY AND SAINTS HEAR US?
One charge made against the Catholic Church is that the Blessed Virgin Mary and the saints in heaven cannot even hear our prayers, making it useless to ask for their intercession. But as Scripture indicates, those in heaven are aware of the prayers of those on earth. This can be seen, for example, in Revelation 5:8, where John depicts the saints in heaven offering our prayers to God under the form of “golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.” But if the saints in heaven are offering our prayers to God, then they must be aware of our prayers.

2) “THERE IS ONLY ONE MEDIATOR BETWEEN GOD AND MEN”
Another charge commonly levelled against asking the saints for their intercession is that this violates the sole mediatorship of Christ, which Paul discusses: “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Tim. 2:5).

But asking one person to pray for you in no way violates Christ’s mediatorship, as can be seen from considering the way in which Christ is a mediator. First, Christ is a unique mediator between man and God because he is the only person who is both God and man. He is the only bridge between the two, the only God-man. But that role as mediator is not compromised in the least by the fact that others intercede for us. Furthermore, Christ is a unique mediator between God and man because he is the mediator of the New Covenant (Heb. 9:15, 12:24), just as Moses was the mediator (Greek mesitas) of the Old Covenant (Gal. 3:19–20).

3) “NO CONTACT WITH THE DEAD”
Sometimes Fundamentalists object to asking our fellow Christians in heaven to pray for us by declaring that God has forbidden contact with the dead in passages such as Deuteronomy 18:10–11. In fact, he has not, because he at times has given it—for example, when he had Moses and Elijah appear with Christ to the disciples on the Mount of Transfiguration (Matt. 17:3). What God has forbidden is the necromantic practice of conjuring up spirits. “There shall not be found among you any one who . . . practices divination, a soothsayer, or an augur, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a medium, or a wizard, or a necromancer. . . . For these nations, which you are about to dispossess, give heed to soothsayers and to diviners; but as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you so to do. The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brethren—him you shall heed” (Deut. 18:10–15).

04/08/2025

I used to wonder why people around me started pulling away.
I thought maybe they were being cold… maybe they were just changing.

I prayed, “Lord, help them. Help them be more patient, more kind, more understanding.”

But then I realized something I didn’t expect ...
"Ako na pala ang tumitisod sakanila."

It hit me hard.
Maybe it’s not just about what others are doing wrong…
Maybe it's my tone, my pride, my sarcasm, my lack of grace.
Maybe I’ve become too harsh with my words.
Maybe I’ve been too loud in my opinions and too silent in my love.
Maybe my actions, though unintentional, are causing others to stumble.

It's humbling to admit that sometimes, I am the reason why others are discouraged.
I am the one pushing them away from peace, from unity, maybe even from God.

I asked for change… and God gently pointed to me.
Not to condemn me, but to correct me. To restore me.

So now, my prayer has changed.
“Lord, make me aware of how I speak, how I live, and how I love.
Teach me to be the kind of person who lifts others up, not the one who brings them down. Help me to reflect You in my words, my attitude, and my presence.
Because "Ako na pala ang tumitisod sakanila," and I don’t want to be the reason someone walks away.”

LOUDER PARA SA MGA TOXIC LEADER NANG SIMBAHAN!!

16/07/2025

Happy Feast Day, Our Lady of Mount Carmel. 🙏

14/07/2025
