A Testimony of Faith: Lolo Wilfredoโs Desire to Worship God ๐๐
Sometimes, God shows us what true faith looks like, not through strength, wealth, or ability, but through a heart that longs to be in His presence.
This is Lolo Wilfredo, 74 years old. Before our church anniversary last April, his body was becoming very weak. He shared that one of his last wishes before he leaves this world was to attend church one more time and join the anniversary celebration.
By Godโs grace, he was able to attend. During that time, we prayed for him, asking God to give him more strength. And God answered in a beautiful way.
God continued to sustain Lolo Wilfredo. He was able to attend church whenever his children were available to bring him.
But last Sunday was different.
No one was available to bring him to church. He had no cellphone to call anyone. His eyes could barely see because of cataracts, only a small โaninagโ (shadow) was visible to him.
And the only thing he had with him was his tungkod (walking stick).
With his weak body, poor eyesight, and only his walking stick to guide him, he decided to walk alone.
Almost 2 kilometers.
Weak, tired, and struggling to see, but his heart was determined to worship God.
When he arrived, he shared:
"Kala ko di na ako aabot, pero nanalangin ako ng kalakasan sa Diyos para makapunta lamang ako sa church para makasamba."
(โI thought I would not make it, but I prayed to God for strength just so I could go to church and worship Him.โ)
Those words touched all of our hearts. Many of us were moved to tears, not because of his weakness, but because of his great desire to worship God.
Lolo Wilfredo reminded us that worship is not only for those who are strong. A heart surrendered to God will find a way to seek Him.
May his faith inspire us all.
โI have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.โ โ 2 Timothy 4:7
