Today is Divine Mercy Sunday❤️⛪️🇻🇦

On May 5, 2000, five days after the canonization of St. Faustina, the Vatican decreed that the Second Sunday of Easter would henceforth be known as Divine Mercy Sunday. Every life is a precious gift, from the moment of conception. This year, members of the Knights of Columbus in Salug Valley area marched together for life—standing up for the unborn and advocating for the dignity of all. The Annual March for Life 2025 is more than a walk; it’s a commitment to love, protect, and defend the most vulnerable among us. Let’s raise our voices for those who can’t.

Vivat Jesus!

Today, we celebrate the 143rd anniversary of the founding of the Knights of Columbus by Blessed Michael J. McGivney in 1882. We give thanks to God for his enduring legacy, which continues to touch countless lives through the mission of the Knights.
Guided by the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism, his vision remains a beacon of hope— inspiring millions of Catholic families around the world.
May the Knights of Columbus continue to serve with faith and dedication for generations to come. Vivat Jesus!

Bringing hope to those behind bars: Knights of Columbus stand in solidarity with our community, reminding us all that redemption and support can shine through even the darkest times.

Recently, members of the Knights of Columbus Salug Valley Council 7610, SVF-YMC 17615 & SHJ-YMC 17512 visited the municipal jail to connect with individuals deprived of liberty, offering a message of hope and solidarity. In a world where despair can often overshadow, we believe in the power of compassion and support. Our visit aimed to uplift spirits and remind those incarcerated that they are not forgotten. Through dialogue and kindness, we seek to inspire a path toward redemption and reintegration. The ultimate goal is to foster a sense of community, reinforcing that every person has the potential for change and deserves a second chance.

September 01, 2024 | Mass Sponsorship

Today is the first Sunday of 'ber' months. As we say goodbye to August, we welcome this first day of September by serving the Lord.

Members of SVF-YMC 17165 and SHJ-YMC 17512 loudly said yes to the call by joining its monthly Mass sponsorship. Also enjoined in earlier's celebration are the newly exemplified members of soon to be Ramon P. Blancia Sr - College Council, the first of its kind in Zamboanga Peninsula.

"If we give young Filipino men a place to grow in faith and fraternity, they’ll avoid the freemasons." -- Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly

2nd Degree: UNITY➰

The Order is dedicated to the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. A First Degree exemplification ceremony, by which a man joins the Order, explicates the virtue of charity. He is then said to be a First Degree Knight of Columbus; after participating in the subsequent degrees, each of which focuses on another virtue, he rises to that status. Upon reaching the Third Degree, a gentleman is a full member. Priests do not participate directly in Degree exemplifications as laymen do, but rather take the degree by observation.

Behind everything a Knight does is the vision of our founder, Venerable Michael McGivney, and the mission he left us as Catholic men united in faith. This holy and heroic parish priest founded the Order with a group of laymen in the basement of St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, CT, the city where the Order’s headquarters remains. Today, we ask for his intercession, pray for his canonization, and live out in our lives the principles he left us as Knights:

Second Degree – exemplifies Unity. None of us is as good as all of us. United as brother Knights, our efforts in support of the Catholic Chirch and our fellow men are focused and multiplied. Nearly two million Catholic men and their families can do tremendous good.

Vivat Jesus!
