THURSDAY DEVOTION TO SAINT JUDE THADDEUS.

Prayer to St. Jude

Most Holy Apostle St. Jude Thaddeus, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of the enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases and of things despaired of.

Pray for me who am so needy; make use, I implore you of that particular privilege accorded to you to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired.

Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings particularly (here mention your petition) and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity.

I promise you, O blessed Jude to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

Amang Makapangyarihan,

Itinataas namin sa lyo ang aming mga pusong nagpapasalamat sa kagandahan ng lyong nilikha kung saan kami ay bahagi, sa pagkalinga Mong nagtataguyod sa aming mga pangangailangan at sa karunungan mong gumagabay sa takbo ng daigdig.

Kinikilala namin ang aming pagkakasala sa lyo at sa sangnilikha. Hindi kami naging mabuting katiwala ng kalikasan. Pinagkamali namin ang lyong utos na pangasiwaan ang daigdig.

Ang kapaligiran ay nagdurusa sa aming kamalian at ngayon ay aming inaani ang aming pagmamalabis at kawalang pakialam.

Ang mga lindol, bagyo, pagbaha, tagtuyot, pagputok ng bulkan at iba pang kalamidad ay patuloy na tumitindi sa pananalanta.

Lumalapit kami sa lyo, mapagmahal na Ama, at humihingi ng kapatawaran sa aming mga kasalanan.

Hinihiling namin na kami, kasama ang aming mga mahal sa buhay at pinagpagurang ari-arian ay ipag-adya sa banta ng mga kalamidad, likas man o kagagawan ng tao.

Iniluluhog namin na kami'y gawing mapanagutang katiwala ng lyong nilikha at maging bukas-palad na kapwa sa mga nangangailangan.

Idinadalangin namin ito sa pamamagitan ni Kristong aming Panginoon. Amen.

Prayer for the Home

Mother of Perpetual Help * we choose you as Queen of our homes. We ask you to bless all our families * with your tender motherly love. May the Sacrament of Marriage * bind husbands and wives so closely together * that they will always be faithful to each other * and love one another as Christ loves his Church.

We ask you to bless all parents. May they love and cherish the children * whom God has entrusted to them. May they always give them the example * of a truly Christian life. Help them to bring up their children * in the love and fear of God. Bless all children * that they may love, honor and obey * their fathers and mothers. To your loving care * we especially entrust the youth of today.

Give us all a sense of responsibility * that we may do our part * in making our home a haven of peace * like your own home at Nazareth. We take you as our model. Help us to grow daily in genuine love of God and neighbor * so that justice and peace may happily reign * in the entire family of mankind. Amen.

The feast day of San Roque (Saint Roch) is celebrated every year on August 16. He is the revered Catholic patron saint of the sick, dogs, invalids, and people suffering from plagues or contagious.

Prayer

O Blessed St Roch, Patron of the sick, have pity on those who lie upon a bed of suffering.

Your power was so great when you were in this world, that by the sign of the Cross, many were healed of their diseases.

Now that you are in heaven, your power is no less. Offer to God our sighs and tears and obtain for us the physical and spiritual health we seek:

St. Roch Novena - Day 9

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Dear Lord, we thank You and praise You for giving us St. Roch as an example of holiness. Please hear the prayers he brings to You on our behalf.

St. Roch, you were falsely accused of being a spy and were arrested when you returned to your home city. You were thrown into prison even though you had done nothing wrong. You suffered meekly in prison for five years and then died there.

We ask you to take all of our petitions before the throne of God, and we particularly ask today that you pray that we may grow in the meekness we need for holiness.

Pray for us, that we may grow in every virtue we need for holiness. Pray that we may do all we can to truly live saintly lives each day.

And we especially ask in this novena for (mention your intentions here).

St. Roque Novena - Day 8

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Dear Lord, we thank You for giving us Your servant, St. Roque, as an example of holiness. Help us to imitate the virtue he showed in devoting his life to charitable service for the love of You.

St. Roque, you devoted your life to mission work among the native people of Paraguay. You worked diligently with your brother Jesuits to establish Reductions, in order to better care for your people.

Please be diligent in bringing my petitions before God!

You did all that you could to minister to your people both physically and spiritually. You were faithful to this charitable mission throughout your whole life.

Pray for me, that I may always seek opportunities to minister to others in my life, for the love of God. Pray that I may be open to the opportunity to serve others when God calls me to.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Dear Lord, we thank You and praise You for giving us St. Roch as an example of holiness. Please hear the prayers he brings to You on our behalf.

St. Roch, you knew that you could contract the plague and die from it when you cared for the sick. But you faithfully continued your holy work until becoming sick yourself. Then you fled to the woods and relied solely on God’s providence to sustain you.

We ask you to take all of our petitions before the throne of God, and we particularly ask today that you pray that we may grow in true trust in God.

Pray for us, that we may always turn to God for all that we need in our lives. Pray that we may serve God faithfully in every circumstance.

And we especially ask in this novena for (mention your intentions here).
