📣 Calling Future Servants of the Lord! 📣

St. Vincent Ferrer Seminary warmly invites young men to take part in the Entrance Examination for Grade 7, Grade 11, and Pre-College on January 17, 2026. This is more than an exam—it is a step of faith, courage, and openness to God’s call. For those who feel a stirring in their hearts to serve and to offer their lives for Christ and His people, this may be the beginning of a beautiful journey toward the priestly vocation.

The Church needs shepherds with generous hearts and willing spirits. If God is planting a seed of vocation in you, do not be afraid to respond. Trust that He who calls will also guide and sustain you every step of the way.

IN PHOTOS: The Ministry of Altar Servers gathers in joyful fellowship to celebrate the Nativity of Our Lord—a season that reminds us of the light that shines in the darkness and the Word made flesh.

While their service is often seen in the quiet reverence of the sanctuary, today we celebrate the community formed behind the scenes. These young men serve as guardians of the liturgy, but they are also a family united by their shared devotion to the altar. This gathering is a celebration of the friendships forged in service and the collective joy of a ministry dedicated to honoring the King of Kings.

As they prepare to assist in the beautiful liturgies of the Christmas season, we reflect on the humility of the Christ Child and the willing hearts of those who serve Him. Their commitment is a testament to the vibrant life of our Church and a reminder that when we serve one another, we serve Christ Himself.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given.” (Isaiah 9:6)

GOD ENTERED THE HISTORY OF MANKIND

In the fullness of time, God entered our human story, our chronos, and embraced our poverty, our fears, and our suffering. He walked with us in our pain, carried our burdens, and opened the way to salvation. In Christ, every ordinary moment becomes kairos, a moment of grace, where God’s love touches our hearts, heals our wounds, and reminds us that we are never alone, even in the deepest darkness.

A gentle reminder:

Attire should reflect reverence for God and respect for the dignity of the liturgy.

When attending the mass, Catholics are encouraged to dress modestly and respectfully as a sign of reverence for God and the sacredness of the Mass.

Appropriate attire includes clothing that is neat, clean, and not distracting, such as dresses or skirts of a modest length, blouses or tops with sleeves, slacks, or collared shirts. Clothing that is overly revealing—such as very short skirts, low-cut tops, sleeveless shirts, or clothing with offensive images or messages—should be avoided.

By dressing with care and humility, we show respect not only for the church as a holy place, but also for the presence of Christ and for the community gathered in worship.

FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT—HOPE

This candle has traditionally been referred to as "Prophet’s Candle" reminding us that Jesus is coming. The theological virtue of HOPE is at the center of the first week of Advent. This is the virtue practiced by the prophets and the entire Jewish race for 4,000 years, as they waited in expectation for the promised Savior. And it is the virtue each Christian must practice throughout his or her lifetime and is so well defined in the Act of Hope:

“…I hope to obtain forgiveness of my sins, the help of Thy grace and life everlasting.”

May they find strength in their faith, comfort in their trials, and freedom to worship without fear. Saint Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church, pray for them. Virgin Mary, Mother of Persecuted Christians, pray for them.

Tomorrow, on the Solemnity of Christ the King, there will be processions of the Blessed Sacrament in honor of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Savior is truly present in that tiny white host - Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. If such procession passes right in front of you, take a courageous act of faith and submission. Everyone is encouraged to PAY ADORATION to and KNEEL before the TRUE KING. 👑
