God Can Do Immeasurably More

Sometimes, we look at our situation and think, “This is impossible.” We may face problems that seem too big, prayers that seem unanswered, or situations we cannot see a way out of.

But Ephesians 3:20 reminds us of something powerful: our limitations are not God’s limitations.

Paul says that God is able to do “immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.” This does not mean that God will give us everything we want. It means that God’s power is greater than what we can see, understand, or imagine.

We may see a dead end, but God sees a way.

We may see weakness, but God can provide strength.

We may see a small beginning, but God can accomplish something far greater than we expected.

Our hope is not based on how strong we are or how good our circumstances look. Our hope is based on who God is and what He is able to do.

Think about the disciples. When Jesus told them to feed the multitude, they saw only a few loaves and fish. But what looked insufficient in their hands became more than enough in Jesus’ hands (Matthew 14:13–21).

Sometimes, we focus too much on what we don't have and forget who God is.

Your faith may feel small. Your resources may feel limited. Your situation may seem impossible. But God is not limited by what limits you.

Sometimes, we believe in God but still struggle with doubt.

We may pray, yet wonder if God will answer. We may trust His promises, yet become afraid when circumstances are difficult.

In Mark 9, a father came to Jesus because his son needed healing. His words were honest: “I believe; help my unbelief!” He had faith, but his faith was weak.

This teaches us that we can bring our doubts to Jesus. We do not need to pretend that our faith is always strong. God already knows our hearts.

When doubts come, do not run away from God. Run to Him. Pray honestly. Remember His Word. Hold on to His promises.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” -Proverbs 3:5

Our doubts may be real, but God is greater than our doubts. Our feelings may change, but His faithfulness does not.

Today, if your faith feels weak, pray: “Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief.”

Hope over doubt means choosing to trust Jesus even when we do not understand everything.

Storms are unavoidable.
Sometimes they come through problems, disappointment, uncertainty, or pain. And when life feels overwhelming, we may ask the same question the disciples asked: “Teacher, do You not care?”

But Jesus was in the boat.

When Jesus stood and commanded the wind and the sea, the storm immediately became calm. This reminds us that Jesus is not only with us in the storm, He is Lord over the storm.

Our hope is not found in having a life without problems. Our hope is found in knowing that Christ is with us, and nothing is beyond His authority.

You may not know when your storm will end. You may not understand why God allows it. But you can trust Him.

When the storm is loud, remember that Jesus is still Lord. When fear rises, remember that He is still with you.

“Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” - Mark 4:40

Today, choose to trust Jesus, not because the storm is small, but because your Savior is greater.

None of us wants to suffer.
We would rather have an easy life, peaceful days, and answers to our prayers. But the Bible reminds us that even in suffering, God is at work.

Romans 5:3–5 shows us that suffering can produce endurance. When life becomes difficult, God teaches us to keep trusting Him instead of giving up.

Endurance produces character. Through trials, God shapes our hearts, strengthens our faith, and teaches us to depend on Him more deeply.

And character produces hope.

Biblical hope is not saying, “I hope everything goes the way I want.” It is saying, “I know God is faithful, even when I do not understand what He is doing.”

Sometimes God changes our situation. Sometimes He changes us while we are in the situation. But either way, He never wastes our suffering.

If you are hurting today, do not think that God has forgotten you. Your tears are not unseen. Your prayers are not unheard. God is with you, and He is still working.

Keep trusting Him. Keep holding on to His Word. Keep hoping in Him.

Because our hope is not built on a trouble-free life. Our hope is built on a faithful God.

Remember:
God can use our deepest trials to produce stronger faith and deeper hope.

Biblical hope is confidence in God because He is faithful to His Word.

The psalmist says, “I hope in your word.” His hope was not based on his circumstances, feelings, or human strength. It was anchored in what God had spoken.

God’s Word gives us hope because it reveals who God is and what He has promised. Scripture tells us that God is faithful (1 Corinthians 1:9), His promises are sure (2 Corinthians 1:20), and His Word is truth (John 17:17).

This does not mean Christians will never suffer. Jesus said, “In the world you will have tribulation” (John 16:33). Biblical hope is not the belief that life will always be easy. It is the confidence that God remains faithful even when life is difficult.

When we are afraid, God’s Word says, “Fear not, for I am with you” (Isaiah 41:10).
When we are weary, Scripture reminds us that “those who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength” (Isaiah 40:31).
When we are discouraged, we remember that God’s mercies “are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22–23).

Therefore, when circumstances change, God’s truth does not change. When our feelings become weak, God’s promises remain strong.

Romans 15:4 says that through the encouragement of Scripture, “we might have hope.”

So when you feel hopeless, do not simply listen to your fears. Open God’s Word. Remember His promises. Trust His character.

Our hope is secure not because we know what tomorrow will bring, but because we know the God who holds tomorrow.

What truth from God’s Word do you need to believe and hold on to today?

There are days when we feel tired of fighting, tired of waiting, and tired of not knowing what comes next. Sometimes, even when we believe in God, our hearts still become afraid.

But Hebrews 6:19 reminds us:
“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”

An anchor keeps a ship from drifting when the waves become strong. In the same way, God gives us hope that keeps our hearts steady when life feels uncertain.

Biblical hope is not pretending that everything is okay. It is trusting that God remains faithful even when everything around us feels unstable. We may not understand His timing, but we can trust His character. We may not see the way forward, but we know the One who holds our future.

And our hope is ultimately found in Jesus Christ. Because He died and rose again, our hope is alive and secure (1 Peter 1:3).

So if your heart is tired today, don't give up. Hold on to Christ. The storm may be strong, but your Anchor is stronger.

You may feel like you are drifting, but God has not let go of you.

Our hope is secure, not because life is always calm, but because Christ is always faithful.

There are times when we feel alone.
Maybe you are going through something that you cannot tell anyone. Maybe you are worried about your future, struggling with problems at home, facing pressure from work or school, or simply feeling tired from everything happening around you.

Sometimes, we ask, “Lord, am I really going to get through this?”

Joshua probably had moments like that.
Moses had died, and Joshua was now given the responsibility of leading God's people. It was a huge task. There were enemies ahead, difficult decisions to make, and many things he could not predict.

God knew Joshua could be afraid.
So God told him:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

But notice why Joshua could be courageous:
“For the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

When you are afraid, God is with you.
When you are tired, God is with you.
When you are discouraged, God is with you.
When you don't know what to do, God is with you.
When you feel like nobody understands you, God is with you.

And God's presence does not depend on how we feel.

There may be days when you don't feel close to God. But our faith is not built on feelings. It is built on God's Word and His promises.

Jesus also promised His followers:
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” - Matthew 28:20

Maybe you don't know what will happen tomorrow. That's okay. You don't have to know everything about tomorrow.

You only need to remember Who will be there tomorrow.

So don't give up.

Take another step.
Keep praying.
Keep trusting.
Keep following God.

You may feel weak, but God is strong.
You may feel afraid, but God is faithful.
You may not know what is ahead, but God is already there.

Whatever you are facing today, remember Joshua 1:9:
“The LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

That is enough reason to keep going.

Action:
Encourage someone who may be feeling alone today. Send them a message, pray for them, or simply tell them, “You are not alone. God is with you.”

Sometimes our hope becomes weak because of what we see around us. Problems come, plans fail, people disappoint us, and there are moments when we wonder, “Will things ever get better?”

But Christian hope is not based on circumstances. Our hope is based on Jesus Christ.

Peter reminds us that God has given us a “living hope” through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our hope is living because Jesus is alive.

The resurrection proves that death did not have the final word. The grave could not hold Jesus, and because He lives, those who belong to Him have a hope that goes beyond this life.

We may face uncertainty today, but our future in Christ is certain. We may lose something on earth, but we can never lose the eternal inheritance God has prepared for us. We may feel alone, but Jesus promised that He will never leave us.

That is why our hope is different from the hope the world offers. The world says, “Hope that things will get better.” The gospel says, “Hope because Jesus is alive.”

When life becomes difficult, look again to Christ. When you are afraid, remember His resurrection. When you feel discouraged, remember that your story does not end with today's problem.

Jesus is alive and because He lives, our hope is alive too.

Share 1 Peter 1:3 with someone today who may need hope.
