A timely reminder as we start the new year: 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗚𝗼𝗱'𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲.
It is only through Christ and His sacrifice on the cross that we have life. Because humanity is utterly depraved, no measure of good works, charity, or service to God can bring salvation. Salvation is entirely the work of God. Unless the Lord regenerates our hearts, nothing we do can save us.
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions — it is by grace you have been saved. (Ephesians 2:4-5)
Yet in His great love and abounding grace, Jesus willingly bore the full cost of our sin upon the cross. By His death, every transgression was wiped away, and in Him we are made alive together with Christ. Even more, His sacrifice was a glorious victory, publicly triumphing over Satan and every scheme set against us.

As A.W. Tozer expresses it, "God's already put me so far in debt that if I were to live one million millenniums I couldn't pay Him for what He's done for me."

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. (Romans 12:1)
