Ang pagsaulog sa Dominggo sa Corpus Christi bililhon para sa matag usa kanato kay kini nagpahinumdom nga wala kita pasagdi sa Ginoo sa atong mga kalisod ug anaa Siya kanunay uban kanato. Kini nga adlaw nagdala og dakong paglaum, kusog, ug kalipay sa atong tagsa-tagsa ka kasingkasing kay nagpamatuod man kini nga ang gugma ni Hesus buhi ug tinuod nga nag-uban kanato sa atong matag adlaw nga pagpaningkamot sa kinabuhi. Labaw sa tanan, kini nga selebrasyon nagtudlo kanato sa pagpakabana ug paghigugmaay sa usag usa aron kitang tanan magkahiusa isip usa ka pamilya nga nagtinabangay ug nagpaambit sa Iyang lawas ug dugo ug sa mga panalangin sa Ginoo ngadto sa uban.

𝗚𝗞𝗞 𝗦𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗴𝗺𝗮𝘆'𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗯𝗮𝗻

Today, the Diocese of Tagum joins the universal Church in celebrating GKK Sunday, a day of thanksgiving for our Gagmay'ng Kristohanong Katilingban (GKK) or Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs).

For decades, our local Church has been at the forefront of nurturing and strengthening the BEC way of life, becoming one of the pioneering dioceses that helped shape and promote the growth of Basic Ecclesial Communities in the Philippines. Through the vision and dedication of our pastors, lay leaders, and faithful, the GKK has become a vibrant expression of a Church that is close to the people.

More than a structure or program, the GKK is a way of being Church. It is where neighbors become brothers and sisters in Christ, where families gather around the Word of God, where faith is deepened through prayer and reflection, and where communities respond together to the needs of one another.

In every sitio, barangay, and parish, our GKKs continue to embody a Church of communion, participation, and mission. They remind us that the Church is not confined within buildings but lives wherever people gather in Christ's name, listen to His Word, and put His Gospel into action.

As we celebrate GKK Sunday, we give thanks for all our GKK leaders, Servers, catechists, and members whose commitment keeps our communities alive and missionary. May this celebration renew our dedication to building Christ-centered communities that witness to faith, hope, and love.

Together, let us continue to strengthen our GKKs and carry forward the mission entrusted to us, so that every community may become a living reflection of the Gospel and a home where Christ is encountered. It is also within these communities that vocations are nurtured, as many priests, religious, and lay leaders first learn to hear and respond to God's call through the life and witness of the GKK.

The future of the Church is not built by a few. It is built by communities of believers walking together, praying together, serving together, and raising new generations of disciples and vocations for the Church.

Kini nga selebrasyon nahitabo eksakto kalim-an ka adlaw human sa Pasko sa Pagkabanhaw (Easter). Niining adlawa, gihinumdoman sa mga Katoliko ang pagkanaog sa Espiritu Santo ngadto sa mga unang sumusunod ni Jesus pinaagi sa kusog nga hangin ug mga dilaab nga kalayo. Tungod niining gasa gikan sa Dios, ang mga sumusunod nakadawat og kaisog ug gahom sa pagsulti sa lain-laing pinulongan ug sa pagtudlo sa mga tawo mahitungod ni Jesus.

𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗦𝗧 𝗦𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗬

“They were all filled with the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:4)

Pentecost is not merely the remembrance of a moment in history. It is the living reality of the Church continually renewed by the Spirit of God.

In today’s First Reading, the Apostles, once gathered in fear behind closed doors, encountered the powerful coming of the Holy Spirit like a strong driving wind and tongues of fire. What was once fear became courage. What was once silence became proclamation. Through the Spirit, the Church was born and sent forth on mission to all nations.

Saint Paul reminds us in the Second Reading that though we are many, we are one Body in Christ, united by the same Spirit who gives different gifts for the building up of the Church. Pentecost calls us to move beyond division and become witnesses of communion, service, and love.

In the Gospel, the Risen Christ breathes upon His disciples and says, “Peace be with you. Receive the Holy Spirit.” The same breath of God that brought life at creation is now breathed upon the Church, commissioning every believer to continue Christ’s mission of mercy, reconciliation, and hope.

Today, the Holy Spirit continues to move within the Church and within each one of us. He strengthens the weary, rekindles fading faith, and sends ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary mission in the name of Christ.

May this Pentecost awaken in us a deeper zeal for evangelization, a renewed love for the Church, and the courage to proclaim Christ not only with our lips, but with our very lives.

Come, Holy Spirit, set our hearts on fire.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗦𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗥𝗗

Today, the Church contemplates the glorious Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ, not as a departure, but as the fulfillment of His saving mission and the promise of our own hope in Him.

As Christ ascends to the right hand of the Father, He entrusts His disciples with the mission to proclaim the Gospel to all nations. The Ascension reminds us that while the Lord is no longer seen in the flesh, He remains ever present in His Church, guiding us through the Holy Spirit and sending us forth as witnesses of faith, hope, and love.

“Why are you standing there looking at the sky?” (Acts 1:11)

The Lord calls us not to remain still, but to continue His mission here on earth, bringing His light to the poor, the forgotten, and the wounded through lives rooted in prayer, communion, and service.

May this Solemnity renew in us the courage to become missionary disciples, living with our hearts fixed on heaven while faithfully serving God’s people on earth.
