A solemn and graceful gathering took place as the Holy Mass was celebrated at 9:00 AM at the Sta. Teresita sa Batang Hesus Parish of Nabunturan, uniting the San Jose Vicariateโ€”comprising the San Roque Parish of Mawab, St. Joseph the Worker Parish of Montevista, and Immaculate Conception Quasi-Parish of Elizaldeโ€”for the Our Lady of Guadalupe Pilgrimage 2026. The faithful assembled in deep reverence to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe, globally recognized as the Queen of Heaven and Earth, who imparts an enduring message of hope, solace, and profound compassion to all. Welcoming her pilgrim image was a powerful moment that strengthened our ties as a community, renewed our spiritual lives, and placed all our families under her loving care.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Queen of Heaven and Earth and Beacon of Hope, pray for us, guide our families, and keep our communities always under your loving and protective mantle. Amen.

As the Philippine Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Guadalupe continues its journey through the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tagum, we invite all the faithful to gather in prayer at Santa Teresita sa Batang Hesus Parish, Nabunturan for the Eucharistic Celebrations and pilgrimage activities on July 31, 2026.

In the presence of the Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Replica of the Miraculous Tilma, and the Image of St. Juan Diego, may we continue to experience God's abundant grace and deepen our devotion to the Blessed Mother, who never ceases to lead her children to Christ.

Today, the Church joyfully celebrates the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, the beloved parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the grandparents of our Lord Jesus Christ. Their faithful witness reminds us that holiness is nurtured within the family, where love, prayer, and faith are faithfully passed from one generation to the next.

As we also observe the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly, instituted by Pope Francis, we give thanks for the immeasurable gift of our grandparents and senior members of our communities. Through their wisdom, sacrifices, and steadfast faith, they continue to inspire, guide, and strengthen the Church.

Our elderly are not merely keepers of cherished memoriesโ€”they are living witnesses of hope, whose lives proclaim Godโ€™s enduring faithfulness across generations. Their presence is a blessing, and their stories continue to shape the faith of families and communities.

On this special day, may we honor them not only with words of gratitude but also with our time, affection, and care. Let us remember that every act of love shown to our grandparents and the elderly reflects the compassionate heart of Christ.

Ang Dios mapailobon ug dili niya ipamugos ang iyang kabubut-on pinaagi sa iyang kusog, apan pinaagi sa iyang kabubut-on hinayhinayng pagtubo diha sa gugma.
