I was born catholic, got pregnant out of wedlock, got married, got pregnant again, got left, and after 5 years, got engaged, got pregnant, and left again. And on December 31, 2017, when this photo (top) was taken, I was incarcerated.

I've always known Jesus. We go to mass every Sunday, and I've seen my father serve at church religiously.
When these unfortunate things happen in my life, I will pray to God. And I wonder if He hears me or if I met the criteria He's looking for so that He would answer my prayer.
I just knew one night in July 2017, I was at the end of my rope; I got out of bed and knelt down, asking God to save me. I counted how many of the 7 sacraments I've done or if I did more good than bad to increase my chances of an answered prayer.
I am a single mom of three who never received any child support,
an only child of 2 senior parents. No one is going to help me but God.
So I prayed out of my desperation and went about my life doing the best I could to survive.

On the evening of my birthday week, I got abducted from my hotel. I found myself in a police operation, and they accused me of being the wife of a drug lord and peddling drugs.
I was the 2018 New Year's Eve news.
And then God brought someone who helped me all the way. I questioned if we were serving the same God because the God I knew won't tell me to help someone the way he was helping me. So I seek his version of Jesus. And how I believe Jesus too, but we're talking about 2 different Jesus.

Christian missionaries did outreach during my stay in the city jail, and that's when I gave my life to Jesus. I realized that the God I'm praying to actually talks back, and I think I heard Him calling me to Himself. So I said, Yes, Jesus. I give my life to you, whatever it takes or whatever it may look like.

For the first time in my life, I realized who God is. His name is Jesus, and He's not some cosmic power or imagination from the religious. He is a person, and He is calling me by name.

I got acquitted in April 2018. Ran the race since then. Held on to Him every step of the way. And I don't know how I came from then until today. But all I knew was I had one thing - a story of how He called me, and I was never the same. I will never be the same.

I have no grand accolades, but all I know is that from that day when He set me free in prison, no matter what happened in my life, in my wins and my mournings, He was there. And I cannot stop telling the world that there's no place of darkness that the Lord cannot save you from.
If He saved me who knew nothing but sin. He can save you.

I ran a magazine that exploits women. I got pregnant thrice from immoral relationships. I'm wretched, but I have no shame now. Because Jesus calls me by name. He calls me Mine.
And that will be my forever story.
That will be the story I will forever share.
Jesus is King. Jesus is the savior of the world. Jesus still saves. He still heals, and He gives freedom to those who believe.

If I am too bold, too noisy, and too radical for Him.
I want you to look at this photo and see why.
He changed my life.
And He offers the same to you and the rest of the world.

DON'T FOLLOW YOUR HEART, FOLLOW JESUS

Modern Christians have bought into this idea that we should just "follow our heart" and by doing this our feelings will lead us to the right place (which usually just means "feeling good").

But this is the farthest thing from the truth. Scripture says in principle that our heart, the seat of our feelings and desires, is DECEITFUL above everything else (Jeremiah 17:9). Far from leading us to the right place, our hearts often lead us AWAY from God to the wrong places.

In other words, if we as Christians "follow our heart" we will almost certainly be led to the wrong place, make the wrong decisions, and follow the wrong gods. Andrew Stephen Damick says it like this,

"Probably one of the greatest heresies of our age could be summed up in this slogan: 'Follow your heart.' (That is, follow your feelings and desires.)

That is not remotely a Christian idea, and it's just dehumanizing, no matter what you believe.

Don't follow your heart. Lead it. Use your reason, integrity and restraint.

That's what lifts us above the beasts. We don't have to obey our impulses. We are more. We are free."

Don't "follow your heart," follow Jesus. And by following Jesus, you will lead your heart to what is good, true, and right.

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
Acts 16:25

Paul and Silas, when they were locked up in jail praised and prayed, they were not praising God because they enjoyed the prison moment. They were not praying deliverance prayers for God to get them out of prison. They were not even complaining why God did not save them from prison since they were on evangelism. They were demonstrating that when Jesus sets you free, you are free indeed even if you're in prison.

Dear reader, no matter what you're going through at this moment, rise up and rejoice in the Lord.

I am mighty tired of what I can do which is naked nothing. What we need is God doing what we cannot do and that is the power of the Holy Spirit.

We need God to ignite a fire in us for the purposes of God. Holy Spirit fire makes you hungry for God's Will. Jesus wants to light us on fire that everywhere we go fire starts going and people come and get ignited with conviction and love for Jesus Christ.

It doesn't matter whether it's in the restaurant, in the grocery store, on the job, at school, in the neighborhood, on the street. Jesus said I came to cast fire on the earth.
