Exodus 20:12
"Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you."
Last Saturday, May 23, 2026, the Cogon Seventh-day Adventist Church in Dita, Barangay Bobon, Mati City, Davao Oriental, came alive with warmth and gratitude as it held its much-awaited Mother’s Day Special Program. Spearheaded by the dedicated members of the Cogon SDA Youth, this meaningful gathering was created to honor, appreciate, and celebrate every mother, grandmother, and mother-figure who has poured out love, care, and guidance to their families and the entire church community. Through heartfelt presentations, songs, and messages, the program served as a sincere tribute to all the special women who hold a cherished place in our lives.
This celebration holds deep meaning when we walk in faith and serve God, as honoring and valuing mothers aligns perfectly with His word and will. Mothers are precious gifts from above—they are the nurturing hands that raise us, the gentle hearts that comfort us, and the faithful souls who often lead our first steps toward knowing and loving the Lord. They are living examples of selfless love, patience, and sacrifice, mirroring God’s own compassion and care for His children. Their presence is irreplaceable; they are the pillars of our homes, the backbone of our families, and the spiritual anchors that keep us grounded, making them an invaluable blessing to every home, church, and community.
From the opening remarks to the final closing prayer, the entire program unfolded smoothly and turned out to be a wonderful success. Every part of the event was carefully planned and executed, creating a joyful, reverent, and touching atmosphere that everyone truly enjoyed. Mothers were beaming with happiness, many were moved to tears of joy, and every attendee felt the love and appreciation poured out throughout the gathering. It was a beautiful and memorable celebration that not only achieved its goal of honoring mothers but also brought the whole church family closer together in love, unity, and faith.
