The Propaedeutic Year seminarians of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Seminary embarked on their Annual Seminary Tour, visiting St. Francis Xavier College Seminary in Davao City and Queen of the Apostles College Seminary in Tagum City.

This meaningful journey gave them a glimpse of life at the Discipleship level of formation. More than that, they were blessed to meet their kuya seminarians and fellow Diocesan Seminarians of Mati (DioSeMa), who shared words of encouragement and inspiration along the way.

The tour was accompanied by the seminary formators, led by Rev. Fr. Donald V. Fernandez, DCM (Seminary Rector), Rev. Fr. Anthony Pobar, DCM (Dean of Seminarians), and Rev. Fr. Richard Labo (Seminary Teacher), together with volunteer faculty and staff.

Indeed, a joyful and grace-filled experience reminding each seminarian of the beauty of the journey ahead. 🙏

With grateful hearts, we thank our generous benefactors for their continued support in the seminarians’ activities. May we all continue to pray for vocations and support them in whatever way we can.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | 𝗔 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀’ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗮𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

With hearts filled with gratitude and hope, the Propaedeutic Completion Ceremony of the seminarians in the Diocese of Mati was solemnly celebrated today, March 21, with the theme “Seminarians: Bearers of Truth, Called to Lead with Honor and Integrity.” This meaningful milestone marked not only the culmination of their foundational formation but also the beginning of a deeper commitment to their vocation.

The Eucharistic celebration, presided over by Most Rev. Abel C. Apigo, D.D., served as the spiritual heart of the ceremony, reminding everyone present that authentic leadership flows from a life anchored in Christ.

As these young men move forward to the next stage of their discernment, the Church rejoices in their “yes” to the Lord, confident that they will carry the light of truth and serve with honor, compassion, and unwavering dedication to God and His people.

Most Rev. Abel C. Apigo, DD presided the mass today (March 21) on the important milestone of the Propaedeutic seminary of the Diocese! The 26 completers will proceed to the Discipleship Phase (Philosophy) either in Davao or in Tagum. The 26 completers are composed of 15 Diocesan and 11 SDV seminarians respectively.

The Diocese is grateful to God that we have still vocations to the priesthood and religious life!

Vocation Search-In 2026 | March 6–8

For three days, young men gathered at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Diocesan Seminary for the Vocation Search-In, a meaningful encounter of prayer and discernment.

Beginning with their arrival on March 6, the participants were welcomed through the celebration of the Holy Mass, shared meals, and a moment of quiet adoration in the Holy Hour.

The following day allowed them to experience glimpses of seminary life through conferences, personal interviews, team-building activities, sports, and a joyful Socio-Night that celebrated their participation and camaraderie.

On the final day, the group visited the Carmelite Monastery to attend Holy Mass and share breakfast before returning to their respective homes.

More than just a three-day gathering, the Vocation Search-In became a space for listening to God’s call, to one another, and to the quiet stirrings of the heart.

May the seeds planted during these days continue to grow as they journey in faith and discernment. ✨
