“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” — Proverbs 1:7
True wisdom does not begin with how much we know, but with how much we surrender to God.
Usahay, ginahunahuna nato nga kinahanglan lang nato ug more answers, more experience, or a better strategy para mahibaw-an nato unsay angay buhaton. This Word reminds us that the beginning of wisdom is not having all the answers, it is knowing who God is and recognizing that He knows better than we do.
When we truly fear the Lord, we become willing to listen, obey, and even receive correction from Him. Having a deep reverence for Him, paghatag ug dakong pagtahod, pag-ila sa Iyang pagka-Ginoo, ug pagpasakop sa Iyang kabubut-on.
Dili tanang tingog nga atong madungog ang angay nato sundon. There are voices from opinions, desires, pressure, temptations, and the world around us. Mao nga importante nga makat-on ta sa pag-ila kung kinsang tingog ang angay nato paminawon. Kinahanglan makabalo tang maminaw sa tingog sa Dios.
Because wisdom begins when we recognize that God's voice carries the truth we need. Before we ask, “What do I want?” we learn to ask, "Lord, what do You want?”
Kay wa man nagkulang ang Diyos sa pagpanulti o pakigstorya kanato. Basig kita lang ang daghan kaayo ug gipaminawang laing tingog.
So tonight, let us choose whose voice we will listen to. Let us quiet the noise, humble our hearts, and make room for God's Word.
