IN PHOTOS | Here are the highlights from the visit of the original image of Our Lady of Assumption, the Mahal na Patrona of the Diocese of Maasin, to the Immaculate Conception–Esperanza Chapel of St. James the Apostle Parish of Cahagnaan earlier today.

As we welcome our Blessed Mother into the community, her visit became a reminder of Mary’s loving presence, humble obedience, and unwavering faith in God. May this sacred encounter inspire us to deepen our devotion, strengthen our unity as one Church, and continue saying “yes” to God in our daily lives just as Mary did.

Sunday Reflection | John 14:15-21

In today’s Holy Gospel, Jesus reminds us that true love is shown through obedience and faithfulness to His commandments. As He prepares His disciples for His departure, He assures them that they will never be abandoned, for the Holy Spirit will remain with them as their guide, comforter, and strength. In a world filled with distractions and uncertainties, we are called to deepen our relationship with Christ not only through words, but through the way we live, forgive, serve, and love others. May we open our hearts to the presence of the Lord each day, trusting that even when we cannot see Him, He continues to dwell within us and lead us closer to His peace and everlasting love.

EASTER SUNDAY | Here are the highlights from the Sugat of the Risen Jesus and Mother Mary held earlier today at SJAP Church.

Easter Sunday reminds us that the silence of the tomb is never the end of the story—God always brings life where there was loss, and hope where there was despair. In the Resurrection of Christ, we are invited to move beyond fear and doubt, and to live as people renewed by His victory over sin and death. May this Easter not only be a celebration we attend, but a truth we carry into our daily lives—choosing light over darkness, faith over uncertainty, and love over all else.

Highlights | Solemn Easter Vigil presided by Rev. Fr. Allen T. Arayan at St. James the Apostle Parish – Cahagnaan.

On this Holy Saturday, we keep vigil—not in despair, but in quiet hope. The blessed fire reminds us that Christ’s light does not fade, and the water points us back to a faith made new. Even in God’s silence, something is already unfolding. May we carry this light into our own waiting, trusting that morning will come.

The procession ends, but the journey of faith continues. May we carry in our hearts the silent strength of Mary and the sacrificial love of Jesus—trusting that every ending in our lives, when offered to God, can lead to a new beginning.

Rev. Fr. Allen T. Arayan beautifully reminded everyone that the Cross is not just an event of the past. It is a daily call to love God completely and to love others selflessly. True devotion is not felt only in church—it is lived in every sacrifice we make for a family member, every kindness we offer a stranger, and every time we choose love over comfort.

May we carry this reflection beyond Holy Week—that loving God and others is not just a feeling, but a daily offering of the heart.

IN PHOTOS | Earlier today, Rev. Fr. Allen T. Arayan presided over the celebration of the Last Supper at St. James the Apostle Parish.

The Last Supper is more than a historic meal—it is the moment Jesus gave us the Eucharist and the command to serve one another in humility. As He broke bread and washed feet, He showed us that love is both sacrificial and practical. Tonight’s celebration invites us to receive Christ more worthily, to serve as He did, and to live in grateful hope of the heavenly banquet to come.

Holy Tuesday | Here are the highlights from today’s Stations of the Cross held on March 31, 2026, as we journeyed in prayer from Cahagnaan to Calubian.

Holy Tuesday invites us to walk more closely with Jesus through the Stations of the Cross. In each station, we do not simply remember His suffering—we encounter a love that remains faithful. As we reflect on His falls and perseverance, we are reminded of our own struggles, knowing that Jesus understands and walks with us in every burden we carry.

In this sacred time, may we not just observe the Stations, but truly live them. Like Simon and Veronica, may we learn to help others and offer compassion, rising after every fall with faith and trusting that beyond the cross is the promise of resurrection.

𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗺 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 | Rev. Fr. Allen T. Arayan of Saint James the Apostle Parish - Cahagnaan led the blessing of Palms in commemoration of Christ's humble entry into Jerusalem.

As we wave our palms and remember Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, we are reminded of how quickly praise can turn into silence, and even rejection. The same crowd that shouted “Hosanna!” would later cry out “Crucify Him.”

Palm Sunday invites us to look within our hearts. Are we faithful only in moments of joy and celebration, or do we remain with Jesus even in His suffering?

This day is not just about waving palms—it is about walking the path with Christ. It is about choosing to follow Him not only in glory, but also in sacrifice, in silence, and in love.

May this Holy Week be a journey of true conversion for us. May we not only welcome Jesus with our words, but also with our lives.
