One of the hardest truths to accept is this.. MORALITY does NOT erase sin.
Cornelius in Acts 10 was generous, prayerful, and respected.. YET STILL NEEDED TO HEAR the gospel.. THAT tells me something important..
SIN IS NOT FIXED by being "nice".. It is forgiven THROUGH OBEDIENCE to Christ.. Period.
I remember thinking my good deeds balanced things out.. It seemed fair.. The problem is, GOD NEVER TAUGHT THAT..
You can be kind, honest, and charitable - and STILL BE LOST without obeying the gospel..
Religious activity DOES NOT EQUAL SALVATION.. Cornelius prayed and gave alms, but he still had to be baptized (Acts 10:48)..
I have met people who thought heaven was guaranteed BECAUSE THEY WERE "GOOD ENOUGH".. That is not what Scripture teaches.. That is pride disguised as humility..
Jesus is not an add-on to a good life.. He is THE ONLY answer to sin..
Anything less is FALSE COMFORT.
