LET GO AND LET GOD

Though we are in the middle of the month of January, I firmly believe that this message I heard today over the radio, 702 DZAS is timely.

"Let go and let God" is a phrase encouraging individuals to surrender their worries and trust in God's
plan, emphasizing reliance on divine guidance rather than personal control.

The phrase “let go and let God” suggest that individuals should release their anxieties, struggles, and the need for control over their lives, allowing God to take charge. It reflects deep reliance on faith, encouraging believers to trust in God’s sovereignty and wisdom in all circumstances. 1 Peter 5:7 states, “Cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you.”

Please read Philippians 4:6-7 and see how believers to present their request to God through prayer, promising that His peace will guard their hearts and minds. In addition, Proverbs 3:5-6 advises trusting in the Lord and acknowledging Him in all ways, which align with the essence of “letting go.”

How to apply “let go and let God?”
1. Surrendering Control – recognize that we cannot control every aspect of our lives. Submit our plans to God and desire God, trusting that He knows what is best for us.
2. Active Faith – true surrender requires active faith. It involves taking steps in obedience while relying on God’s strength to guide us through challenges.
3. Finding Peace – by releasing our burdens to God, we open ourselves to experience His peace and guidance, even in the midst of chaos. This process can lead to spiritual growth and deeper connection with God.

To “Let Go and Let God” is to live in the reality that He is infinitely more capable than any human method or strategy. It is a daily, moment-by-moment surrender that acknowledges His ultimate wisdom, goodness, and power. Such trust is fostered by consistent prayer, immersion in God’s Word, and active participation in the community of believers.

When anxiety tempts one to cling to control, remembering Jesus’ words and actions brings reassurance that the One who overcame the grave is fully willing and able to deliver in every circumstance. This principle is not passive resignation but an invitation to rest in the very presence of the God who knows and cares for each of His children.

In every struggle or decision, casting burdens onto Him opens the door to renewed faith and deeper relationship. This timeless exhortation resonates throughout Scripture: rest in the Lord who upholds His creation and lovingly shepherds His people with unfailing grace.

Prayer

From heavy heart and tired hands from holding on too tightly, I come to You.
I release to You every worry, every fear, and every burden I have been carrying.
Teach me to trust that Your plans are greater than my own,
Teach me to trust that Your plans are greater than my own,
and that Your timing is always perfect.

Fill me with peace where there has been anxiety, with hope where there has been doubt,
and with strength where I have felt weak.

Help me to rest in the truth that You are in control, and that I am safe in Your loving hands. Today, I choose to surrender —to let go of what I cannot change
and to let You lead me where I need to go.

With highest praise and worship this is my prayer in the Almighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen!

HOW SHOULD CHRISTIANS APPROACH NEW YEAR?

New Year’s Day is no different from any other day as far as Christ is concerned. For the believer, however, the very idea of throwing out an old calendar and starting with 12 clean pages is a heartbreaking reminder that the pages, like our lives, quickly become messy.

New Year’s Day is a day of resetting hearts, which have lost concentration, and of restoring the habit of turning to Christ every day for a fresh start, not in a new relationship, but in a relationship with Jesus, which is always growing.

What should Christian be doing in every new year God is giving to us?

Christians know that new starts are available any time, they are not dictated by the calendar. “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning” (Lamentation 3:22-23).

Joy and mercy are available for every believer, all the time. A new year, however, inspires this kind of thought process:

1. Confession
Peace awaits the one who is quick to confess and repent of sin. “Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LORD” (Psalms 32:10).

The New Year is a perfect time to dig up the roots of trouble by the power of the Holy Spirit, under the assurance that honest and whole-hearted repentance leads to life and peace
(2 Corinthians 7:10).

Remember these words from the Apostle John: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

Jesus does not want his people to be burdened by their sin. He wants them to experience freedom. God’s Word contains all the answers one needs to overcome addictions and work through conflict, and it provide direction and support, helping to connect the Lord’s promises to one’s unique emotional needs.

2. Remember All the Lord has Done
“Take care lest you forget the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery” (Deuteronomy 6:12). Christians are enjoined to never forget what their Lord has done for them.

A Christian who obtains his greatest joy from the Lord sees the New Year as a time to remember the goodness of God as it has unfolded across the past year. Sometimes the details of God’s intervention are only obvious when one surveys his goodness over time.

We can never remember the Lord’s grace and mercy and love towards us too often. Remembering Christ is essential; the more one does this the better.

Recall that Christ knows the temptations you face, the suffering you endure. He is able to sympathize, so turn to Him without fear.

3. Celebrate the New Year
“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalms 118:21).

This is the Psalmist’s exhortation for every day, not just New Year’s Day; not only on good days, when we anticipate the company of friends and a great meal, perhaps music and dancing. Every day is the Lord’s Day and every day we are His.

4. Christ Coming Closer
Every year, someone predicts the end of the world. One thing is for sure: Jesus’ return is sooner today than it was yesterday. With that in mind, we prepare.

John Piper explains what it means to be in Christ: “if you really want to be like him by seeing him when he comes, you’ll pursue being like him now. You will.” In other words, the New Year is a reminder to keep Jesus ever in the forefront of our minds.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Almighty Lord Jesus Christ and dear Holy Spirit

As I step into this new year, I thank You for the gift of life, the lessons of the past, and the hope of what lies ahead.
Guide my heart to set resolutions that honor You and bring growth to my spirit.
Grant me the discipline to follow through, the courage to face challenges, and the humility to learn from my mistakes.
Help me to walk in kindness, speak with love, and live with purpose each day.
May my actions reflect Your light, and may this year be filled with peace, joy, and blessings for me and those around me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Seeing Yourself in God’s Principle

Psalm 139:13-14 – “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well.”

Some people think making New Year’s resolutions is foolish. And it is true that many are quickly forgotten or abandoned, but that does not mean the whole practice is a waste of time. It is a way of setting your course in the right direction for the coming months. If you do not make plans for improvement, the only alternative is to drift along doing the same things you have done before—whether or not they are fruitful.

Seeing yourself as God sees you is essential to understanding your worth, purpose, and identity. The Bible reveals how deeply loved, valued, and uniquely created you are by God. Embracing His perspective allows you to live with confidence, humility, and a sense of divine purpose.

Your resolution should not just be based on worldly accomplishments, but on a deeper spiritual level, did you see how you responded to the Lord’s guidance, promises, or warnings throughout the year. The goal is not to judge your performance, but to check the condition of your heart and remind yourself of the lessons we have learned.

God intentionally created you with care and purpose. It reminds you that you are fearfully and wonderfully made, a reflection of His craftsmanship. Seeing yourself as God sees you means recognizing the beauty and value He has placed in your design. This verse encourages you to embrace your uniqueness and to live confidently, knowing that you are a work of divine art. Trust in His perfect plan for your life.

To see yourself in God's principles, consider the following insights:

1. Recognize Your Worth: God sees you as fearfully and wonderfully made, emphasizing your unique value and purpose (Psalms 139:14).

2. Embrace Your Identity: You are God's masterpiece, created with intention for good works (Ephesians 2:10).

3. Understand Your Purpose: Your life has a divine plan, and you are valued as part of God's handiwork (Ephesians 2:10).

4. Reflect God's Love: God's love is unconditional, and you are accepted as you are, regardless of your past or mistakes (Romans 5:8).

5. Live with Confidence: Embracing God's perspective allows you to live confidently, knowing you are loved and valued (Psalms 139:14).

These principles encourage a transformative self-image that reflects God's love and acceptance.

Prayer

Our Father in heaven, dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and dearest Holy Spirit

Thank You for creating me in Your image and calling me by name. Help me to see myself not through the lens of fear, doubt, or the world’s standards, but through the truth of Your Word.

Remind me that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, redeemed by the blood of Christ, and called to walk in righteousness. Teach me to value integrity over approval, humility over pride, and love over judgment.

When I am tempted to measure my worth by my failures or successes, let me remember that my identity is secure in You. Shape my thoughts, words, and actions so they reflect Your heart and bring glory to Your name.

In our Lord Christ Jesus name I pray, Amen!

HEAVENLY MINDED
Set Your Mind on Things Above

Colossians 3:1 ESV
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

We would do well, then, to listen again to the clearest covenant of heavenly mindedness in Scripture.
“Our minds are most full of heaven when they are most full of Christ.”

If you belong to Christ, then in the truest sense, you do not live here on earth, but there in heaven: “You have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3). Nor is your life in Christ on full display now, but only then: “When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory” (Colossians 3:4).

Your life is wonderfully, intimately, eternally bound up with Jesus himself, who reigns there and will appear then. And heavenly mindedness aligns us with that fact, teaching us to define our identity not by the person we see in the mirror but by the Savior we see in Scripture.

Yet such a mindset does not nullify the life we have on earth, but rather transforms it according to the culture and norms of heaven. If we are hidden with Christ there and will be revealed then, we cannot help but look more like Christ here and now.

Apostle Paul develops this point through the rest of the chapter, where he pens a portrait of the heavenly minded:
1. They put to death all that dishonors God and demeans others (Colossians 3:5-9).
2. They dress themselves in the heavenly clothing of compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience (Colossians 3:12).
In a society of accusations and blames, they speak the otherworldly language of forgiveness (Colossians 3:13).
3. They walk under the reign of divine peace, which has established its throne on their hearts (Colossians 3:15).
4. They speak and sing with the harmony of gratitude and grace (Colossians 3:15-17; 4:6).
In every relationship, in every word, in every deed, they seek to show the glory of Jesus Christ (Colossians 3:17 – 4:1).
5. They are like oaks whose roots sink deep into heavenly soil. Though they grow up in the same field as the rest of the world, and though the same winds and storms beat against their trunks, they daily draw nourishment from another world, and so bear the fruit of that better country.

Heavenly mindedness is an invitation to be with Jesus as much as we can, in preparation for the day when we will be with Him always. So, begin your day with Jesus, fix your meditations upon Jesus, and retreat throughout the day to Jesus. Because “set your minds on things that are above” means, at its core, “set your minds on Him.”

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Gracious Father, Almighty Lord Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit
In the noise and rush of life, still my heart and quiet my thoughts. Lift my eyes above distractions, worries, and fleeting desires, and fix them on You – my Lord and Savior, my peace and joy. Teach me to think with Your wisdom, to see with Your compassion, and to choose with Your truth as my guide.

When doubts whisper and fears rise, remind me of Your promises that never fail. Let my mind dwell on what is pure, noble, and eternal, so that my life reflects Your light in every word and action.

Today and always, I surrender my thoughts to You, and choose to walk in the freedom of Your truth.

In Christ Jesus name I pray, Amen.

CHRISTMAS Greeting

Isaiah 9:6
Isaiah 9:6 NIV
6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Christmas celebration is not to bring our wallet out or empty it, but a day of opportunity and privilege God has given to us to celebrate Jesus, our Lord and Savior. In the book of John 10:10 says, “I have come that they may have life, and have it in full.”

God created us not to defeat us, but to bring our lives in the process of Christlikeness.

1. The Light That Breaks the Darkness
"The people walking in darkness have seen a great light" (Isaiah 9:2).
Christmas reminds us that no matter how deep the night, God’s light shines brighter. Jesus came not just to illuminate the world, but to guide our steps, warm our hearts, and drive away fear. This season, let His light lead you into forgiveness, courage, and renewed faith.

2. The Gift That Cannot Be Bought
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son" (John 3:16).
The greatest gift of Christmas is not wrapped in paper but in love. It is a gift that meets our deepest need—reconciliation with God. As we exchange presents, let us also give the gifts of kindness, patience, and grace, reflecting the heart of the Giver.

3. Peace in the Midst of Chaos
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests" (Luke 2:14).
The first Christmas came during political unrest and personal hardship, yet heaven declared peace. True peace is not the absence of problems—it is the presence of Christ in the middle of them. This Christmas, invite Him into your storms and let His peace guard your heart.

A blessed, meaningful and joyous Christmas celebration to you all!

REMEMBERING GOD’S WORD

Almost every meal my wife and I talk about the Word of God. How the transformative power of His Word should model ourselves on. How frustrating to know God’s Word does not touch on one’s life.

In my early seafarer years God allowed me to witness and experienced the power of His Word and that was the first vivid miracle allotted to me.
Scripture guides one's life, strengthen faith, and maintain a close relationship with God. The Bible consistently underscores the importance of not only hearing but also retaining and applying God's Word in daily living.

In the Old Testament, where the Israelites were instructed to keep God's commandments at the forefront of their lives. In Deuteronomy 6:6-9, Moses commands, "These words I am commanding you today are to be upon your hearts. And you shall teach them diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates." This passage highlights the importance of constant engagement with God's Word, ensuring it permeates every aspect of life.

Psalms 119:11 states, "I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You." This verse underscores the protective power of internalizing Scripture, serving as a safeguard against sin.

In the New Testament, Jesus Himself emphasizes the importance of remembering and abiding in His teachings. In John 15:7, He declares, "If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." Here, Jesus links the abiding presence of His Word with the efficacy of prayer and the believer's relationship with Him.

The Apostle Paul also stresses the necessity of remembering and applying God's Word. In Colossians 3:16, he exhorts, "Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God." This passage highlights the communal and transformative power of God's Word when it is deeply embedded in the life of believers.

Remembering God's Word is not merely an intellectual exercise but a transformative practice that shapes character and conduct. It involves meditation, memorization, and application. Joshua 1:8 provides a clear directive: "This Book of the Law must not depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in all you do." The promise of prosperity and success is contingent upon the continual meditation and observance of God's Word.

The practice of remembering God's Word also serves as a source of comfort and guidance in times of trouble. Psalms 119:105 affirms, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." This metaphor illustrates the illuminating power of Scripture, providing direction and clarity in the midst of life's uncertainties.

The importance of remembering God's Word emphasize its role in guiding, protecting, and transforming the believer's life. By internalizing and applying God's Word, believers are equipped to live faithfully and victoriously in accordance with His will.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Almighty Lord Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit

I thank You for the gift of Your Word – a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Plant Your truth deep within my heart, so it may not be forgotten.

When my mind is distracted, bring Your promises to my remembrance. When I face trials, let Your Word be my strength and comfort.

Oh, Holy Spirit, teach me, guide me, and help me meditate on Scripture day and night, so that I may live in obedience and walk in Your ways.

In Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior name, Amen!
