September is here, and with it comes a beautiful reminder of Mary’s gentle and faithful yes to God. As we celebrate the Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, may we also learn from her humility, courage, and unwavering trust in the Lord. 🌹✨

Just like Mary, may we continue to say yes to God—not only in the big moments, but also in the simple ways we serve each week. Every Mass we sing at, every prayer we offer, and every moment we spend together is another opportunity to bring our hearts closer to Him. 🕊️

💭 Coram Deo Choir’s Reflection: Follow Him, even when it’s hard. 💛

In today’s Gospel, Peter wanted to protect Jesus from suffering. He couldn’t understand why Jesus had to walk the difficult road toward the cross. But Jesus reminded him that following God’s will doesn’t always mean choosing the easiest path.

Sometimes, following Jesus means letting go of what we want, carrying the crosses we’re given, and trusting Him even when we don’t understand where the road is leading. 🙏

We all have our own crosses—struggles we don’t talk about, sacrifices we quietly make, and moments when we simply ask, “Lord, kaya ko pa ba?”

And maybe that’s where faith becomes real. Not when everything is easy, but when we continue to follow Him despite the difficulties. ✨

As we serve through music, may we remember that our voices are not only meant to be heard—they are meant to lead people closer to Christ. Every practice, every Mass, every sacrifice, and every song can become our own little way of carrying the cross with Him. 🎶✝️

We invite you to serve and praise the Lord with us through music. 💛

“Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.” — Psalm 100:2

We are joyfully opening our choir to new members and are currently looking for Sopranos, Altos, Tenors, and Basses, who are willing to use their gifts for God’s glory. You don’t need to be perfect—just a heart ready to serve and praise Him. 🎼🙏

Qualifications:

• Must be a Roman Catholic
• Preferably residing in Marikina or nearby cities (ex. Montalban, San Mateo, Antipolo or Cainta)
• 14 - 55 years old

💭 Coram Deo Choir’s Reflection: Who is Jesus to you? 💛

In today’s Gospel, Jesus asks His disciples a simple but deeply personal question: “But who do you say that I am?”

Peter didn’t answer with what other people were saying. He answered from his own faith: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 🙏

Sometimes, we can get so used to hearing about Jesus—at Mass, in songs, in prayers, or through other people—that we forget to ask ourselves what He truly means to us.

Who is Jesus when we are struggling?
Who is He when our prayers seem unanswered?
Who is He when we feel lost or unsure of where we’re going?

Like Peter, may we learn to recognize Jesus not only through what others tell us, but through our own relationship with Him. May our faith become something personal—something we carry not only inside the church, but also in the way we live, serve, and love others. 🕊️

And as a choir, may every song we sing always lead us back to the same answer: Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. 💛🎶

💭 Coram Deo Choir’s Reflection: Faith that keeps asking. 💛

In today’s Gospel, we meet a mother who simply refused to give up. She came to Jesus carrying her fear, her worry, and her deepest prayer: “Lord, help me.” Even when things didn’t go the way she expected, she continued to trust and hold on.

Sometimes, our prayers feel like they’re going unanswered. We ask, we wait, and we wonder if God is even listening. But this Gospel reminds us that faith isn’t always about having all the answers—it’s about continuing to trust, even when we don’t understand. 🕊️

The Canaanite woman’s faith challenges us to keep coming to Jesus, especially when we feel tired, discouraged, or uncertain. Because sometimes, the greatest act of faith is simply saying, “Lord, help me,” and choosing to believe that He is still there. 💛

May we learn to have a faith that doesn’t easily give up—a faith that keeps praying, keeps trusting, and keeps reaching out to God. 🙏

💭 Coram Deo Choir’s Reflection: Keep Your Eyes on Jesus. 💛

In today’s Gospel, Peter stepped out of the boat because he trusted Jesus. For a moment, he walked on the water—but when he looked at the strong wind and the waves around him, fear took over, and he began to sink.

Honestly, sometimes we’re like Peter. We start with courage, trusting that God will lead us, but then life gets overwhelming. We look at our problems, our doubts, and everything happening around us, and suddenly we forget the One who told us, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.” 🌊

But even when Peter’s faith became weak, Jesus didn’t let him drown. He immediately reached out His hand and caught him.

Maybe that’s something we need to remember today: having faith doesn’t mean we will never be afraid. It means knowing where to turn when we are. When the waves get rough, may we keep our eyes on Jesus and trust that His hand will always be there to catch us. 🕊️
