FATHER DOLINDO RUOTOLO
A Prophet of our Time

Father Don Dolindo Ruotolo was a Neapolitan priest stigmatized miracle worker and “mouthpiece of the Holy Spirit”.

Father Ruotolo had extraordinary communications with Jesus throughout his heroic life, a life that was totally devoted to God and Holy Mother Mary. He referred to himself as “the Madonna’s little old man” and the Rosary was his constant companion.

Much of what our Lord wants flies in the face of normal human inclination and reason. We can only rise to this level of thinking through the grace of God and the help of the Holy Spirit.

We must let go of our problems, stop worrying, and trying to resolve them ourselves. We must believe, trust, and allow our Lord to rescue us from ourselves and supply our wants, needs and resolve our problems as only He can.

Jesus, You take care of it, should be the first words that come to mind and flow from our lips. After all, we have tried to do things our way and look where it has got us.

Just do as the prayer says, open our hearts and minds in love and close our eyes in trust, and ask Jesus to take care of it. He will.

On November 19, 1970 ,Don (Fr) Dolindo Ruotolo died at the age of 88. Padre Pio once said of this priest from Naples, Italy, The whole of paradise is in your soul. His name “Dolindo” means “Pain” and his life was rich with this pain. As a child, a teenager, a seminarian and a priest, he experienced humiliation, which was the realization of the prophetic words of a bishop who said You will be a martyr, but in your heart, not with your blood.

In his profound humility, he was able to hear the words of God. Even with his hidden life, he was one of the greatest prophets of the last century. He wrote to Bishop Hnilica in 1965 that a new John will rise out of Poland with heroic steps to break the chains beyond the boundaries imposed by the communist tyranny. On this postcard, he wrote words of consolation for Poland and all the countries suffering under the communist regime. This prophecy was realized in the papacy of John Paul II.

In his tremendous suffering, Dolindo became more and more a child who lived his self-offering to the Divine Father. I am totally poor, a poor nothing. My strength is my prayer. My leader is the will of God, which I let take me by the hand. My security over the uneven path is the heavenly mother Mary.

One of the treasures from the words that Jesus spoke to Dolindo was the teaching about total abandonment to God. In this novena, Jesus is talking to Don Dolindo and also to you.

THE SURRENDER NOVENA
Given by Jesus to Fr. Dolindo Ruotolo

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything! (10 times)

He was poor.
He was sickly.
He was considered useless.

And the Church now calls him Saint André Bessette.

He was born in Quebec in 1845.

One of twelve children.

By the age of twelve, both his parents were dead.

He was small.
Often ill.
Too weak for heavy labor.

Employers dismissed him.

“He is good for nothing,” some said.

But God saw something else.

André had one strength.

Faith.

He had a deep, childlike devotion to Joseph — Saint Joseph.

When he tried to enter religious life, even that seemed uncertain. His health was fragile. His education was minimal.

But he was accepted — not as a scholar, not as a preacher.

As a doorkeeper.

He opened doors.

Welcomed visitors.

Ran errands.
Small tasks.
Hidden work.

But people began to notice something.

When the sick came to him, André would pray with them. He would place a small medal of Saint Joseph in their hands. Sometimes he would anoint them with oil from a lamp burning before Saint Joseph’s statue.

And then…

They were healed.

Word spread.
More people came.

Not for him.
But for God.

André always insisted:

“I do not heal. Saint Joseph heals.”

Crowds grew so large that a chapel was built.

Then a bigger one.

Eventually, what stands today is the magnificent Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal in Montreal — one of the largest churches in the world, born from the faith of a man once called “useless.”

Through it all, André remained the same.

Simple.
Humble.
Hidden.

He never claimed credit.

He pointed always to Saint Joseph.

The orphaned boy.
The sickly worker.
The doorkeeper who opened more than doors.

Saint André Bessette teaches us:

God uses what the world overlooks.
Small acts can carry great grace.
And humility makes room for miracles.

If you feel insignificant…
If your gifts seem too small…
If life has told you that you are not enough…

Remember the man who stood at a door — and opened a path for countless souls to God.

Saint André Bessette, pray for us. ✝️

Did you know? Eucharistic Adoration has the power to transform your heart and life.

The saints who spent countless hours before the Eucharist knew this better than anyone. Here are three timeless reasons why Adoration changes everything:

1️⃣ It Deepens Our Intimacy with Jesus

Adoration is intimate, personal time with Christ truly present—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. The saints describe it as the ultimate heart-to-heart. St. Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa) said: “The time you spend with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the best time that you will spend on earth. Each moment that you spend with Jesus will deepen your union with Him...”

Just sitting there, gazing at Him, lets us feel His love more deeply than words can express.

2️⃣ It Brings Peace, Strength, and Protection from Sin

In a chaotic world, Adoration is a source of true peace and grace to overcome temptations. St. Alphonsus Liguori called adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament “the greatest of devotions... the one dearest to God and the one most helpful to us.” Many saints, like St. Ignatius of Loyola, noted how time before the Eucharist preserves the soul from sin and helps us rise when we fall.

It’s soul-medicine: peace that the world cannot give, and strength to live holy lives.

3️⃣ It Transforms Us and Fuels Our Mission

As we adore, Jesus reshapes us into His image, renewing our love for the Mass and sending us out to love others more zealously. St. Peter Julian Eymard taught that “Eucharistic Adoration is the greatest act of holiness on earth” and the most necessary mission for the Church. St. John Paul II emphasized how it becomes “an inexhaustible source of holiness” and transforms our daily witness.

Gazing at Him changes us—from the inside out—so we can bring His light into the world.

-----------
Jesus is truly waiting for YOU right now in the tabernacle. Why not make time this week? Even a short Holy Hour can bring graces beyond imagining.

“The devotion to the Eucharist is the most noble, because it has God as its object; it is the most profitable for salvation...” – Pope St. Pius X

SLEEPING SAINT JOSEPH

O Saint Joseph, you are a man greatly favored by the Most High. The angel of the Lord appeared to you in dreams, while you slept, to warn you and guide you as you cared for the Holy Family. You were both silent and strong, a loyal and courageous protector.

Dear Saint Joseph, as you rest in the Lord, confident of His absolute power and goodness, look upon me. Please take my need into your heart, dream of it, and present it to your Son

Please save us all from this contagion!
Help especially the poor!

Help me then, good Saint Joseph, to hear the voice of God, to arise, and act with love. I praise and thank God with joy.
Saint Joseph, I love you. Amen.

𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙥 𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜: “𝙈𝙮 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙞𝙣 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙣.”

"When a person dies, they do not go straight to heaven, unless they are Saints on Earth. You are doing a great evil to your loved ones, if you don't pray for them. Do not say, my relative is in heaven now! No they are not. If they are Catholic and died with confession they went to Purgatory. It is your obligation to make sure that person receives the last Sacraments, and your obligation if you truly love them, to pray so they may get out of the fires of Purgatory soon. A Holy Mass once a year, it's cruel! Once a month is not any better. Think of your time, how will you like people to pray for you. Remember one second in Purgatory feels like years. Pray and say many Masses for your loved ones. No One goes to heaven not pure.

"I come to tell you that they suffer in Purgatory, that they weep, and that they demand with urgent cries the help of your prayers and your good works. I seem to hear them crying from the depths of those fires which devour them: 'Tell our loved ones, tell our children, tell all our relatives how great the evils are which they are making us suffer. We throw ourselves at their feet to implore the help of their prayers. Ah! Tell them that since we have been separated from them, we have been here burning in the flames!'
-Saint John Vianney

The Church has always taught that nothing impure enters Heaven, and most souls must first be purified in Purgatory. When we assume the dead no longer need our prayers, we may actually be abandoning them in their suffering.

The Holy Souls in Purgatory cannot help themselves anymore—they depend on our prayers, sacrifices, and especially the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. To offer only one Mass a year, or to forget them completely, is a terrible neglect of charity toward those we claim to love.

Saint John Vianney warned that the souls in Purgatory cry out for help: they beg their families, their children, and their friends to pray for them so that they may finally enter Heaven.

If you truly love your departed family members, pray for them, offer Masses for them, and never stop remembering them.

St. John Vianney, pray for us.
