SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO TO ROME
Today, we were deeply blessed to visit the shrine of Padre Pio in San Giovanni Rotondo and the Lanciano Cathedral ( site of Eucharistic Miracle)—two sacred places that profoundly echo the witness of faith, sacrifice, prayer, and holiness throughout the centuries.
On the Solemnity of Pentecost, Fr. Joselito Santos presided over the Eucharistic Celebration. Borrowing the words of — “Pray, hope, and do not worry” — Fr. Santos reminded his brother priests that God is already at work through the sacraments. The same Holy Spirit who transformed the Apostles and all the saints continues to work in us, His priests.
Prayer strengthens us in ministry. We cannot give what we do not have; thus, we must remain constantly united with God in prayer. Prayer sustains us, draws us closer to God, and becomes the very life of every priest of Christ.
Hope reminds us not to rely solely on our own strength, but on the power of the Holy Spirit at work within us. In moments of despair, people often turn to priests seeking guidance and encouragement. Therefore, our lives must radiate hope so that we, too, may become instruments of hope for others.
Do not worry. We hold firmly to the promise of Jesus that He will send the Holy Spirit to guide, strengthen, and defend us in our most difficult battles. As the Lord teaches us, “Let tomorrow worry about itself.”
May the Holy Spirit continue to bring renewal, strength in moments of weakness, and light in times of darkness. Like Padre Pio, may we surrender ourselves to God each day and render faithful service to His people.
