MOSES AND THE BURNING BUSH
EXODUS 3

Exodus 3:7-9 NIV
[7] The Lord said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. [8] So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. [9] And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them.

Reflect:
The Lord is the one true and living God who hears and understands us, just as He heard the cries of His people, Israel. He is our salvation and our rescuer in times of need. No matter what circumstances we face, the Lord sees and hears us; He knows and understands everything we go through. More importantly, God will surely help us when we call upon Him. He is never out of reach—always present, ready to listen and to help.

Respond:
God calls us to be still and steadfast in our faith. He wants us to trust in Him, even in the most difficult moments of our lives. He reminds us that He sees us and hears all our prayers. In the midst of our struggles, He is with us, and He will surely come to our aid.

We shouldn't give up to the challenges in our lives, but instead put our whole heart into it and always pray to God about it. Because everything we do for God is never wasted. It all matters, and it lasts forever.

Genesis 49:10 NKJV
[10] The scepter shall not depart from Judah, Nor a lawgiver from between his feet, Until Shiloh comes; And to Him shall be the obedience of the people.

Reflect:
God's Word is true and timeless. The tribe of Judah is a lineage of royal blood. Almost all the kings of Israel, from David, to Solomon, and many more under the bloodline of Judah. All of these are true and became true in prophecy under God's provision. Even up to this very time, we benefit from this truth. Shiloh, a Messianic title in the Old Testament, pertains to Jesus' coming, shall come from this very royal bloodline. Since, by genetics, He is not only a descendant of Judah, but also God, He is not only the King of the heavens but the king of Israel, the whole universe. To a king belongs the obedience and loyalty of a nation, and it is only fitting that our obedience is only His.

Respond:
Lord, to You belongs our obedience. You want us to make You the center, the king of our lives. You are the king of kings and the Lord of lords, and Your Word is as eternal as You are. You want us to dwell and marvel in the timeless truth of Your character and Your grace found in the lives of Jacob and his sons, and most importantly Jesus.

Paul concludes his teaching on being safe in Christ with a joyful message: "If God is for us, who can be against us?" " (Rom. 8:31). It's like a song that reminds us that God's grace will see those He has chosen through to the end of their journey to salvation. Our hearts feel secure—not because of what we do, but because of God's unending love and strength.

| GOD FIRST DAILY |

Chosen by Grace, Not Status

Genesis 48:19

Reflection:

The verse highlights God’s complete sovereignty over all things, showing that His plans are not limited by human expectations or standards. It reveals that He often chooses the lesser, the overlooked, or the unexpected person to accomplish His purposes. This reminds us that God’s ways are higher than ours, and His decisions are not based on outward greatness, status, or human ability. This demonstrates His greatness more fully, as it removes any room for pride and points all glory back to Him.

Respond:

This is an encouragement for us to continue the race, even when we feel our own shortcomings and limitations. It reminds us that our weaknesses do not disqualify us from being used for a greater purpose. Instead, they can become opportunities for God’s strength to be revealed in and through us.

As Christians, we are followers and ‘ambassadors’ of Christ. We are called to share His Word, spread His message, show His love to others, and encourage them to restore their relationship with God by turning back to Him and asking for forgiveness.

Reflection:
This verse shows that God is a provider. Through Joseph, God provided for his family during a time of need. It reminds us that God uses people and situations to take care of His people. Even in difficult times, God makes a way and ensures that His people are sustained.

Response:
God is reminding us to trust Him as our provider. Just like He provided for Joseph’s family, He will also take care of us. We should rely on Him and be thankful for the ways He provides in our lives.

‎This verse reminds us that while we are free, our freedom is not meant for doing whatever we want or justifying wrong actions. Instead, our freedom should lead us to live responsibly, with integrity, and in obedience to God. Rather than using our freedom for evil, we should use it to honor, respect, and serve Him.

JOSEPH REVEALED TO HIS BROTHERS
GENESIS 45

Genesis 45:4-8 NKJV
[4] And Joseph said to his brothers, “Please come near to me.” So they came near. Then he said: “I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt. [5] But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life. [6] For these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting. [7] And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. [8] So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

Reflect:
The Lord is our sovereign God, who is in control of everything. Everything that has happened in Joseph's life was planned by the Lord through His infinite wisdom and sovereignty. God is indeed trustworthy, as He knows and governs all things in order to fulfill His will.
Joseph's life is proof that God is faithful to those who trust in Him. From being separated from his father and sold into Egypt, to being wrongly accused and imprisoned, and eventually rising to hold the second-highest position in all of Egypt—God was with him and blessed him every step of the way. Now, in this chapter, he is reunited with his family. The Lord is truly good and faithful; there is no reason to doubt or mistrust Him, except because of our own pride.

Respond:
God wants me to recognize His work in my life and to acknowledge the great things He has done to shape who I am today. All of my experiences, trials, and sorrows along the way were allowed by God—not to weaken my faith, but to strengthen and refine it. Through these, I can develop a deeper relationship with Him, learning to depend on and trust Him in all situations. He wants me to remain grateful for all that He has done.

God First Daily

From Betrayal to Brotherhood
Genesis 44

REFLECT
In this chapter, God is the patient Architect of Restoration who cares more about our internal change than our external comfort. He isn't interested in just punishing the brothers for their past; instead, He orchestrates a high-stakes moment to see if they have truly changed. Even when He seems silent or "hidden" behind Joseph’s tests, God is actively working to bring hidden guilt into the light so that true healing can finally begin. As seen in Genesis 44:16, the brothers realize that "God has found out the guilt of your servants", showing He is a God who pursues us until we are ready to be honest with Him.

RESPOND
The Lord wants us to avoid the sin of callousness toward our family and the temptation to abandon others to save ourselves. We are commanded to take responsibility for our past actions and to mirror Judah’s example of sacrificial intercession by standing in the gap for the vulnerable. From this passage, we learn that true restoration in our relationships often requires a "broken and contrite heart" that prioritizes the well-being of others above our own comfort or safety.
