Daily Prayer | May 8, 2023

"Dear Lord, I pray that You would give me the strength to stand up for You in the world today. You, Lord, are aware of the difficulties I shall encounter today. Please bear with me while I work my way through them. Carry me if I am too weak to move. Forgive me, Father, if I stumble in them. When I succeed in them, I will thank You! You are deserving of every praise and honor. In Jesus' name. Amen."

Gospel for today | May 7, 2023;

"Jesus said to his disciples: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be. Where I am going you know the way." Thomas said to him, "Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?" Jesus said to him, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, then you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him." Philip said to him, "Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us." Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who dwells in me is doing his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else, believe because of the works themselves. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father." - Jn 14,1-12

Daily Prayer | May 7, 2023

" Lord, may nothing separate me from You today. Teach me how to choose only Your way today, so that each step brings me closer to You. Help me follow the Word and not my emotions. Please help me to keep my heart clean and undivided. Keep me safe from my own reckless thoughts, words, and deeds. And protect me from becoming sidetracked by my needs, desires, and ideas about how things should be. Help me to see what comes my way as an opportunity rather than a personal annoyance. Finally, please assist me in resting in the reality of Psalm 86:13, "Great is your love toward me." You already see the ways I will fall short and mess up. But right now, I consciously tuck Your whisper of absolute love for me into the deepest part of my heart. I recognize that Your love for me is not dependent on my performance. You adore me, flaws and all. That's amazing. But what amazes me the most is that the Saviour of the world would want to spend a few minutes with me this morning. Lord, help me to remember what a privilege it is to sit with You in this way. In Jesus' name. Amen."

Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who dwells in me is doing his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else, believe because of the works themselves. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father. And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it." -Jn 14,7-14

"Lord, thank you for the gift of life today. Grant me tenacious winsome courage as I go through this day. Help me to keep going when I am tempted to give up. Grant me a cheerful spirit when things don't go my way. And give me the courage to do whatever needs to be done. In Jesus' name. Amen."

"Dear Lord, I come before you, O Lord. As the sun rises, may your hope rise up in me. As the birds sing, may your love flow out of me. As the light floods into this new day, may your joy shine through me. I come before you, oh Lord, and drink in this moment of peace, that I may carry something of your hope, love, and joy today in my heart. In Jesus' name. Amen."

From now on I am telling you before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe that I AM. "Dear Lord, you have brought me to the new beginning of a new day; just as the world is renewed fresh, and clean, so I ask you to renew my heart with your strength and purpose. Forgive us the mistakes of yesterday and bless me to walk closer in your way today. This is the day I begin my life anew; shine through me so that every person I meet may feel your presence in me. Take my hand, precious Lord, for I cannot make it by myself.
