We want to extend our sincerest gratitude to everyone who joined us for our Ash Wednesday Mass earlier this morning at the School Gymnasium. It was truly moving to see our teachers, students, and staff come together as one family to reflect, pray, and receive ashes.

A special shout-out to our dedicated student leaders from the CIC JHS and SHS club and the GSP for their leadership and assistance in making our gathering both orderly and solemn. We also offer our deepest thanks to our priests for leading us in this holy celebration, and to the staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare the venue.

As we wear these ashes today, let them be a gentle reminder of our shared commitment to grow a little kinder, pray a little deeper, and serve one another with more love. May this Lenten season bring a sense of peace and renewal to every one of us.

“Lent is a time of renewing for the soul, a chance to shed what is unnecessary and find what is eternal.”

We’ve all had those moments where we feel a bit overwhelmed or disconnected. Ash Wednesday is our school’s way of
hitting the "pause" button together. We invite you to join us tomorrow, February 18, 2026, at 7:00 AM at the
School Covered Court, to start this season of reflection as one community.

This isn’t just about a mark on our foreheads, it is about showing up for ourselves and for each other.
Whether you are coming with a heart full of prayer or just looking for a bit of peace before your day starts,
there will always be a place for you here. Wearing your ashes is a brave, simple way to say, "I’m working on myself,"
and that honesty might be exactly what someone else needs to see to start their own journey.

Join us this Wednesday, February 18, 2026

Ash Wednesday Mass would start at 7:00am at VEFMHS Covered Court

Let us walk this path together, FUGOSIANS!

Revelation 21:4:
He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order has passed away. A promise of hope and new beginnings

This verse hits different every time I read it! We’re saved by grace alone, through faith alone – it’s God’s generous gift, given freely because He loves us so much. He doesn’t save us to leave us as we are though – we become His workmanship, carefully crafted to walk in the good paths He’s prepared. Let’s remember today our worth isn’t in what we do, but in who we are in Him. And because of that love, we get to share His goodness with the world. 💫 ✨

I'm not there yet, and that's okay. Philippians 3:13-14 teaches me to
forget what's left behind. It doesn't mean that we should erase our history, but we should release the weight of it. Every mistake we did was a lesson, and every setback was just all a preparation. Today, we should choose to reach forward, use the wisdom of yesterday to become a better version of ourselves in Christ.

PSALM 28:7

"If it wasn't for the struggles,
you wouldn't be as strong as
you are today. God is always
building you up, even when if
feels like He's breaking you."

This verse from the Bible shows that life's challenges are not pointless setbacks but rather learning opportunities that strengthen our resilience. Even when adversity seems overwhelming or like it's breaking us down, it portrays God as actively working to strengthen and shape us for the better.

"Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground".

-Psalms 143:10

The only way to know God's will is by getting to know Him. It's through drawing near to God that His guidance becomes evident. There isn't one correct way to do that, but there are steps we can take that will help.

Seek God through prayer:

Think about a close friend. If you've known them for a while, you know what they like and dislike. The closer you are to someone, the more you understand them. The same goes for our relationship with God. Knowing God's will comes from having honest conversations with Him. That's why we need to get into the habit of talking to Him regularly, about everything.

Search the Scriptures:

God's will for your life will never contradict what is written in Scripture. So, as you get to know God through prayer, familiarize yourself with His Word. The more you study the Bible, the more your desires will begin to reflect God's will. And when this happens, you can confidently ask God anything-and He will hear you.

Listen to the Holy Spirit:

Listening for the Holy Spirit often requires silencing the noise around you. When you get rid of distractions and stop fixating on fear, you start to notice God's peaceful presence in your present circumstances. So, as you pray and search the Scriptures, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you, and allow God to silence any distractions.

Look for confirmation from wise people: Consider inviting people who are further ahead in their faith journey to be your "wise counsel." Ask them to seek God's will for your life with you. This step must be done alongside the previous ones. Seeking wise advice should confirm what you sense God is already telling you to do-it should not take the place of talking directly to God.

You may not always get it right, but the more you try to understand God's will, the easier it becomes. When your desires align with God's desires, He can trust you to do what is right. Applying these steps will help you, but discovering God's will is a lifelong commitment that requires seeking God every day.

This verse reminds us that it is okay to feel weak sometimes. You don’t need to be strong all the time. When you admit your weakness, God’s strength works in you even more. His grace is enough to carry you through hard days.

You may feel tired, but you are not defeated.
What’s breaking on the outside is being rebuilt within.
Keep going—God isn’t done with you yet.

John 1:29 teaches that Jesus is the final sacrificial lamb who will pay the final penalty for sin. It also teaches that Jesus existed before he was born, making him eternal.

John the Baptist point us straight to Jesus—not to himself. He remind us that Jesus is the One who takes away the sin of the world and the One our hearts are truly searching for. May our lives like John's, always point others to Christ.

Jesus doesn't just point out our sins; He carries them away. The sacrifice that changed everything. From guilt to grace, Behold the Lamb. He came to make us new. No burden is too heavy for the Lamb of God to take away.

The pens are down and the exams are over. 🙏🙌📖

It’s tempting to think the work is completely done, but the end of one season is usually just the preparation for the next. Ephesians 6:13 gives us a powerful command: "...and after you have done everything, to stand." We’ve done the work, we’ve faced the pressure, and we’ve crossed the finish line. But the true goal isn't just surviving the test—it’s staying ready for whatever life throws at us next. There will always be more challenges, more "mountains," and more problems to solve, but we don't face them with fear. We face them by staying grounded, staying alert, and keeping our faith intact.

Celebrate the win today, but keep your armor on for tomorrow. Success isn't just about the grades we get; it’s about the readiness we maintain. 🕊️✨

There’s a specific kind of weight that hits when you’ve survived the first gauntlet but still have to find the heart for the final one tomorrow. 1 Kings 19:7 is such a gentle reminder for a day like this: "Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you." It’s an honest admission that we aren't meant to carry the whole week’s pressure at once. If you’re running on empty tonight, don’t judge yourself for being tired—just focus on refueling for that one last push. The same grace that carried you through today’s papers is already waiting for you at the finish line.

Rest well; tomorrow is the time to finish strong. 🕊️
